These guys showed a lot of promise last night, and blew away my expectations, however; they are in a system that allows them to penetrate right from the snap.(much of the time) As a former DT(not pro) the phrase I loved most was "get to the football" the phrase I hated most was "read and re-act". I will be giddy when Rat and Spencer have a shot at "go to the football", so don't count them out yet.

Where are earth do you get this garbage? Spencer may have been our best defender and pass rusher last year. I genuinely believe people with your outlook have no clue what was being asked of Spencer in the 34.

Spencer was a very good player for us last year and above average every other year. I for one hope he comes back and dominates, even if we aren't keeping him.

Only the cutters on this message board would ever want a player to not do well just so he can be replaced by another player.

The overall play of the DL was the surprise of the night. They did however appear to wear down late in the game.

Note:

The DL were asked to attack differently, i.e. wait till Spencer gets back and then make a judgment... I'm more excited cause Marinelli is already making an impact.

So far Selvie's proven he can rush the passer but I'd like to see if he can hold up when they run right at him.

The Giants couldnt really get their ground game going (thanks to David "cough" Wilson) but KC and JCharles will probably test him out next week.

I'm not excited by the prospect of Selvie replacing Spencer. I'm excited by the prospect of having both players in a rotation with Demarcus Ware.

A) Intentionally hurt the guys earning potential.

B) Bench him for a street free agent.

What's more ridiculous is claiming Spencer is Dallas' best defender last season without acknowledging that Ware was battling multiple injuries throughout the year, Rat never got healthy, and both Lee and Carter were injured and out of the lineup early. That's pretty damning praise IMO.

Earned the job how? 2 good preseason games and 1 good regular season game? He's earned playing time, and that's it.
