With an offseason to develop do you think he'll be a starter or is he just a backup. I think if he gets two dominant DT's next to him it'll help.

backup. But can do with as starter again next year if we draft a stud DT.

I say rotational starter as well. Dude should get plenty of reps but we shouldn't lean on him nor should be be playing as many snaps as he has been. He has legit pass rushing skills and if we had someone as good or better to rotate him with we'd be in good shape on that side of the line.

Starter on the weak side if Ware is released due to cap issues.

Other option is to let Ware (with a restructured deal) and Selvie battle it out on the weak side and the loser becomes the backup/designated pass rusher.

Depends.

I don't mind him as a starter unless he can be replaced with someone who can potentially be more productive than him.

If there is a DT or DE in the draft that are = talents i'd go with the DT because Selvie has shown he can play at a solid level.

He stepped in there well, with good players inside I expect our DE's too have a lot more success, if we bring in a better guy in there than make a rotation with the Two and who ever responds better with the competition and better play gets more plays

It would be nice if he could be a rotational guy - meaning we have someone better - but he'll probably be the starter next year.

I guess the question is can we get better next year with Heath as the starter? Hayden? Carter? I think we need to find better players in the draft, if possible. We are probably going to need to replace Hatcher, too. There just seem to be higher priorities than Selvie.

You keep him in the rotation, he plays well and has a friendly cap number.

Ideally a backup. But given our propensity to draft CB's and TE's in the early rounds, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a starting DE next season

Nothing wrong with being a rotational guy, I can see Hayden being in the rotation as well. Now all we need is some stud DL men from this yrs draft, possibly a Dt and De that can come in and play significant snaps.

He may be a great rotation guy. You need a good rotation for a 4-3. If we can keep him , hatcher with ware and 3 more pieces we have a Dline.

What would people think of Ware taking a pay cut, the Cowboys signing Jared Allen, and spending a top pick on a DT in round 1 or 2? And possibly franchising Hatcher?

Ware, Allen, Selvie, Crawford at DE all rotating

Hatcher, 1st or 2nd rounder, Crawford, Hayden rotating at DT

On this team? He is a starter. There is no way Dallas replaces that whole line and attempt to fix the secondary and linebackers. Not to mention, they will take a couple obligatory offensive skill positions in the draft.

Free agent's will be sparse as well, there won't even be enough left to take the team to Chuck E. Cheese's for pizza and games.

Look for more blah signing to fill in the holes and hope we find someone who will perform like Selvie did. He would not start for most of the teams but he will be needed in Dallas.

Jerry is already thinking of a way to sell him to us as part of that secret sauce............
