I dont think they should go draft on a safety. Theyre already really young in the secondary. They need a vet there. Ward would be a good fit.

I don't care where they get a safety as long as they have a far ranging fast instinctive safety. Maybe that guy is Wilcox. Maybe it's the oft maligned What's His Name Johnson Or Something.

With an offseason to develop do you think he'll be a starter or is he just a backup. I think if he gets two dominant DT's next to him it'll help.

Not sure about starter or rotational player BUT I would retain him for cap purposes. Ok don't kill me but I would also bring back Marvin Austin to start training camp. Once again sign him to a cap friendly deal and get him in our system and in shape from the beginning of camp to see how it works. I would look for a stub LB b/c Bruce Carter pissed me off in the Eagles game.

I'd say 'rotational' player.

They are going to do it again next year by committee..

..as I wouldn't expect them to be able to find 2 starting DL in the draft.

Surely there #1 pick will be DL.

Dallas needs to bring in competition and let someone actually win a starting job instead of having it handed to them.

The plan this year was to start Anthony Spencer, and there was no real backup plan until Dallas surprisingly found one in Selvie.

I don't care what role Selvie plays next year, but if Dallas goes into the season planning to start Ware and Selvie and not address the end position, then we're in for another troublesome year on the line.

back up or rotational starter. selvie makes up for lack of talent/athleticism with effort and hustle. for him there is a huge drop off when he asked to play too much.

Selvie is a poor mans DeMarcus Ware..but he is better than the 2013 Ware

Starter. Dude produced playing with bunch of scrubs next to him and Ware having his worst season.

We can't have pro bowlers in every position. Get some DTs that didn't work at Walmart the week before joining the team and Ware back to his old self and I think Selvie can put up better numbers.

Ideally he'd be a back up. He gives you a great rotational player if you can have him in that role. He really seems to wear down and disappear when he has to start and play every play. If they can get pieces on that DL and let him rotate in and out I think he'll be a really good player for us again next year.

I'm most interested to see what happens to Marinelli. He's under contract so if he stays DL coach or DC I think Selvie will still produce at a high level and we will have a good defensive line next year. If he's gone to Tampa that's a whole different situation.

Some of that will depend on what they plan on doing with their projected starters going into 2013. Ware is breaking down physically. It is emotionally hard to fathom, but Dallas might consider that the play will not match the salary going forward and part ways. Also, I do wonder if they plan on talking a one year "prove it" contract with Spencer for 2014.

Considering it cannot possibly get any worse, I would not be upset if Dallas just bit the bullet and went with Selvie and a rookie on the edges while they rebuild that line.

Strong rotational player. He's probably the least of our concerns on the DL at the moment to be honest.
