Sensabaugh has visits lined up — 3:30 p.m.
The Dallas Cowboys’ second-round tender offer to restricted free agent Gerald Sensabaugh may not have been high enough to discourage other teams from attempting to sign the talented young safety to an offer sheet.

An NFL source has told Scout.com that the sixth-year safety, who finished fourth on the team in tackles in 2009, has three visits in the planning stage with teams that have an immediate need for starter-quality talent at the position.

Sensabaugh was originally a fifth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2005 NFL Draft. After four seasons with the Jaguars, he signed with the Cowboys prior to the 2009 season. He’s started 39 games, including 15 for Dallas last year, and has appeared in 65.

I wouldn't be that upset if we lost him for a second rounder. I like his tackling but he has poor ball instincts and isn't very good at covering TEs.

I want Ken Hamlin gone not him, but he is certainly no Ed Reed. If Sensy goes probably K Hamlin stays is the problem.

Please let it be the Rams that are interested in giving us a 2nd and that they don't match a low offer on Atogwe.

I would even take a 3rd for him. I know he played with a cast basically all year, but I've never really been that high on him.

I can't imagine any team would really forfeit a 2nd for Sensabaugh. Probably just noise from his agent.

I doubt it would be any team with a high 2nd.

If so that's rape.

this idt is true because he most likely would have had 2-4 more ints if he didnt have a cast on half the year and i think you are just thinking about the play vs. the vikings where he lost the ball.

other than celek i dont remember TE coverage being a factor and i think we let celek get his in order to prevent desean from getting behind us.

I'm amazed by the posts in this thread.

Sensabaugh basically shut down the best TE's we faced all season long. He is exceptional in coverage on TE's, and he showed up more in all coverage than Hamlin.

I don't believe for a second that Dallas will let him walk...I think they felt safe with a 2nd round tender and want to see what the market offers.

When you let your good players walk and have to replace them, you usually take a step backwards in the transition. This team is already very good and should continue upgrading.

Oh please could someone schedule Proctor, Bowen and Hurd as well?

Anyone?

I want five 2nd round picks.

I don't think we can easily find a strong safety his caliber for a second-round pick, so I would be upset if we lost him for that.

He played one ball poorly this year, in the Minnesota game, but other than that he shadowed tight ends and receivers all over the field, often without help. Not too many strong safeties, at least ones also good in run support, who can do that.

Jerry Jones said he and Austin were priorities, and there's good reason for that.

what the hell? I don't understand many of these posts. Sensy was a huge help for us this year..he basically shut down all TE and was much more impressive then Hamlin. He could of had at least 4-5 picks this year if it weren't for the cast. If he goes, I think M. Hamlin is the favorite to take over at SS, and I doubt Ken gets released. Both of them could go though. I hope we keep Sensy and just sign Atogwe.

I have a gut feeling the team is okay with both Hamlins, Ball, and a FA or rookie at safety and would be just fine with getting another 2nd round pick. The draft is deep and that might allow them to use their 1st on a RFA who has already proven themselves in the league. I like Sensabaugh and don't really want to lose him but turning an inexpensive free agent into a 2nd after just one year is hard to argue with.

Honestly if both guys were replaced it wouldnt be a bad thing and most likely would upgrade the defense.

Sensabaugh gets more of a pass from me fro last yr due to the broken hand/cast thing, but Hamlin has been miserable for two years now.

If just one has to go, Hamlin is a no-brainer to me. Biggest liability on the defense without question.
