Sensabaugh has visits lined up — 3:30 p.m.

I'm torn on this. For a high second I'm tempted to let him walk, but if it's a playoff team, then I say keep him. He's a very good tackler, takes great angles and isn't a liability in coverege. Yeah it would be great if he made more plays, but I'm not convinced that we can upgrade the position.

Let him walk - then we can bring in Atari Bigby, since he had better numbers than Ken Hamlin in 2009. He made more impact plays, especially when the Packers let the Cardinals score 51 on them. Defense everywhere. Championship.

Both safeties are so average and they reap the benefits of a playmaking front seven. They don't get exploited because our corners are reliable in man and we get good pressure and stuff the run.

Imagine a playmaker, a ball hawking cover guy or a hard hitting hybrid safety. I personally hate Hamlin, like Sensys age, price, and an extra season to get acclimated to the scheme and play without a cast. I would love to see this
defense with one more playmaker in the secondary. I like the other Hamlin and think he can step right in and play but we can't get complacent with 1 Int in 2 seasons. Bum ankle or not he can't tackle has made a handful of memorable plays.

Anyone know how much Jerry and co like Earl Thomas?

I think he has become extremely overrated due to the success of the team. I don't think he was a pillar of strength for us but a weakness that we tried to prevent other teams from exploiting (much like Bradie James in coverage).

We need a guy who can play better man coverage on TEs. We were exploited some by Celek, Gates and Thomas (NO) last year and he was part of the problem.

I don't think he is worthless, but I would take the gamble of getting a player with that 2nd rounder.

The point is moot anyways. No one is going to offer him anything because he is not worth the second rounder.

I think Sensabaugh was a HIGE asset for ou defense last year, and he would have made more big plays for us if not for the broken hand.

Sensabaugh did what was asked of him with great success. He shut down some of the best TE's in the league that had always enjoyed great sucess against us in years past.

Letting him walk would be a huge mistake in my opinion...I would much rather let Hamlin go since it's an uncapped season, and find a replacement for him instead.

We also drafted Al Johnson in the second.

Or how about Quincy Carter.

Or how about Jacob Rogers.

Or how about Tony Dixon.

Or how about Anthony Fasano.

Just saying.

If you ever mention those names in my presence again, I'll have to hurt you...

I wouldn't enjoy it, but I'd do it... :D

Thomas is going in the top 15. A second plus a 27 does not get you into the top 15.

And watch the labeling.

Don't worry, jobber, nobody in here thinks you're a genius...

Oh wait, that didn't come out right...

:D

I'll kiss anyone in this room!

Guys, chicks, everybody!

Then let it be known that I'll be staying away from this board on draft day...

I get frustration. But does being frustrated mean you have to lose all common sense?

I have longed been convinced that this board has the power to suck the common sense out of SOME people each time they log in... I think it's a genetic thing...

I mean, I'm pretty sure they would have won a Darwin award years ago, if they acted like that in real life...

Think about it, you know I'm right...

Sense imho is worth keeping...Hamlin wasn't ever that good imho to have warranted his contract with us.

I'm amazed by the posts in this thread.

Sensabaugh basically shut down the best TE's we faced all season long. He is exceptional in coverage on TE's, and he showed up more in all coverage than Hamlin.

I don't believe for a second that Dallas will let him walk...I think they felt safe with a 2nd round tender and want to see what the market offers.

When you let your good players walk and have to replace them, you usually take a step backwards in the transition. This team is already very good and should continue upgrading.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I agree.

Not only did Sensy play well -- and you can't forget he played with a broken hand almost all year -- but Mosley has claimed the coaches said he brought a real toughness and a little bit of an edge that they said we needed. And the other players picked up on that and respected him for it.

But... People forget that RFA offer sheets can be matched. We might just want to let someone else set the market. Or if no one shows real interest, then we can probably negotiate a cheaper deal.

Careful you don't step in the bull****, new person.

It would be easier if you stopped spreading it so thick...

I think Sensabaugh is a really good player but if we get a mid to high 2nd for him then you gotta let him walk.

We could do some damage with another pick.

Maybe we could flip that 2nd into Gaither or Bethea too.

The more I think about it the more I think we should get Jared Gaither.

Hes a legit stud.

good good good good idiot ran his mouth then looks like a frigginnn guyyy against vikings. ... im actually not sure AT ALL why espn and all these media people are saying we are superbowl favorites next year. .that was absolutely pathetic... there needs to be an adults only section on here. man. lksjflksadur3u423iu4li23u4oi234uoiuj@#$@$@#$@$

For me, it comes down to where that 2nd rounder is located. If we are talking about an early 2nd, I drive Sensy to the airport myself.

For the record, I think Sensy is alot better than Ken Hamlin, he freaking sucks.

If someones willing to give up their #2, I would gladly let Sensy walk for that, he was average at best and he didnt cost anything to begin with.

This team has some work to do at the safety position, and Sensy was an upgrade over RW, but thats not really saying anything ..is it?

Adequate at best upgrade over RW, but still not what a SB contending team needs out of their SS.

And Im not even getting started with FS............... yet.

Take a two if someone comes calling.... thats the 2nd step in the right direction for this secondary.
