Sensabaugh wants long term deal

Assuming a new agreement is not reached prior to Free Agency, I don't see the point in giving him a long term deal unless it's at a significant discount. Tender him a 2nd round offer and no one will touch him IMO.

If Dallas can draft a better player he walks after a year. If not, negotiate a long term deal then.

I love that guy but there is really no chance that we even get close to getting him.

I don't mind keeping Gerald though I wouldn't break the bank for it. He was solid this year and I don't mind having someone back there whose solid.

You all realize that Rice made a great play on that catch. He caught it ONE handed.

Give Rice credit. Sure Gerald should have looked back but I think maybe he was watching for Rice's arm to go up which it never did.

One bad play and everyone wants him out. We need a new team based on that criteria. Remember our LAST SS? Roy W? He would be 10 yard behind Rice and yelling at Newman the whole time.:laugh2:

Why are we not hearing people going after Jenkins for letting Rice catch the ball and broke his tackle...just being fair. Should we cut him too?

He screwed up that play but he's been a huge upgrade over Roy all year. Hell, at least G was running step for step with Rice. Roy would have been 10-15 yards back.
He cost himself $$ w/ the last game but he's still a solid SS the other 99% of the time.

lol we said the same thing, guess I should read all the replies in a thread. :p:

I think you have to evaluate Sensabaugh and what he brings to the table vs. whoever you have on your roster or whoever you may target in the draft. You have to compare each individuals skillset and you also have to consider payroll limitations. If Sensabaugh grades out slightly higher than M. Hamlin but costs twice as much you should go with the younger player.

Craig

No thanks. Bring him back if there is nothing else on the market or in the draft. But hell no, don't sign this guy long term. Nice hitter, but that's it.

The only thing close was when Parcells was here. A qb fumbled at Larry Allens feet (can't remember which qb) and he pulled some poor acting job by looking around like he didn't know what happened. He just didn't feel like picking the ball up.

He still doesn't know.

Exactly. I'm normally very forgiving when players mess up, but that crap was inexcusable. He was in position to not only defend, but even to make an interception. He did not look back. He did not attempt to break up the pass. He did not attempt to tackle. He didn't even ATTEMPT any of the above. Inexcusable.

When I saw the replay, it looked like he realized the ball was caught, but did nothing. It was very strange.

Other than that, he had a solid year, but he has a whole lot of nerve talking contract at a time like this.

Sensabaugh is a good guy and a decent player but I think the combination of him and Hamlin hurts us. One of our safeties needs to be a better cover guy.

I know what you're saying.

I was watching it over and over going WTH!

Besides that ******** play yesterday, he's been solid for us all season.

I'd give him 3 years, 12 million.

If he doesn't like that, pray for Earl Thomas in the draft.

This. But I'd like to see us put Gerald Sensabaugh on one side and Mike Hamlin on the other.

The guy was a good pickup no doubt...but that play at that time...it really was a back breaker to start.

I like what sensi brought this season, id love to bring him back but not over pay for him...

Wow Sense is really getting dogged for that play. Yea it was big...but seriously

He had to make up so much ground just to be in the right postion, and did that. Im sure there was a million times that happened this year, and the ball went to a different reciever on the field. Hell if i was sensabaugh i wouldnt have turned around either, Rice WAS NOT open, that was a dumb throw by favre if you ask me. It just worked out for them. Which blows

So thats what he was looking for after the Rice catch. Instead of looking for the ball, he was looking for a long term contract. Naturally.

sensabaugh shouldn't have been covering rice on that play.i blame that touchdown on terrance newman.newman released him on that play and didn't even try to knock him off the route.i know this hasn't got anything to do with sensabaugh wanting a long term contract but i've been wanting to point that out to someone and i finally got my chance.lol.:D

let him test the market

everyone is gonna have short term memory and just remember yesterday

but the guy was solid for us all year

i dont want a ken hamlin situation though. played good enough at a pro bowl level for a long term deal then hasnt played consistently well since.

definitely wouldnt break the bank for him. if hes asking to much or another team is willing to pay more let him walk and look towards the draft.

you really think the colts are gonna let him and bob sanders both walk in the same off-season?

dont count on it. if it comes down to whos going to stay its definitely not sanders

we really need to sign him to a 1 yr tender. make him prove it again.
