Separating the contenders (Titans) from the pretenders (Cowboys): Per NFL Network

Jason La Canfora thinks we may not win another game this year. I just get so tired of the media wanting failure for the Boys. I hope we whip the Giants this next weekend.

NFC: Pretenders

Dallas (8-3), first in NFC East
We all know what this team does in December. Historically, Tony Romo has been awful in the season's final month, and the schedule down the stretch is brutal. Teams are taking away Jason Witten, now beat up, and no one else is stepping up on a consistent basis. Even though he's coming off a seven-catch, 145-yard Thanksgiving performance, Miles Austin isn't going to bring it every week. The defense has been better, but the history of late-season collapse is very real and hard to shake. With two other very capable teams in the division right on their heels, and a loss to Green Bay a potential wild-card killer, I don't like their chances. Even in two of their wins, over Washington and Kansas City, the Cowboys were awful and should have lost. I see it all catching up with them in the end.
Remaining schedule: at N.Y. Giants, San Diego, at New Orleans, at Washington, Philadelphia.

Prediction: By the end of this upcoming three-game stretch, they'll be chasing the pack and beating the Commanders on the road won't be easy. They might not win another division game. If it goes down like I think it will, look for heads to roll in Big D this offseason.

Yeah Dallas is 8-3.... BUT!

I hate that mentality. If we beat the Giants then we wont be stopped from getting into the playoffs.

Its on Sunday. Its time to buck up.

In all honesty, they can write what they want until we shake the December slump. There's a whole lot of blind hate AND a whole lot of truth to that summary. It's up to the Cowboys to shut everyone up. Getting all upset as a fan about what someone writes on a website doesn't change anything.

I agree. Until the Boys do something in December or win a playoff game, this article will come up every week/year. I choose not to read the stuff, we all know the history, we don't need articles every week to remind us.

I think that if you want to be on television talking about the NFL you should at least look like you could have played football at some point in your life. Otherwise, remain a print-journalist. La Canfora looks like Ralphie.

It's still infuriating that he'd pick the Giants and Philthy as contenders and call the Cowboys pretenders despite the fact that the Cowboys are currently leading the division.

The Giants and Eagles both have tough Decembers as well.

Jason's getting a lump of coal in his stocking FOR SURE!!

My thoughts when I see him is they took Joe Sixpack off a couch in Jersey who plays fantasy football and made him an analyst.

yeah and we could have won all three games we lost

no one is stepping up on a consistent basis? you can flip that and say we have so many weapons that we can have a different hero each game

Witten is banged up? he's always been and has a history of playing well when banged up

man this guy reeks of lack of objectivity

They can continue to say whatever they want. All Dallas has to do is get it done on the football field and let the W's continue to come in. If we do that it's the best way to shut up the stupidity around them.

If we beat the Giants than its game, set, match on all these clowns who write this stuff.

yawn...

This is getting more stupid every day. Sure, we do not have a great record in December in recent years. But we also had a harder schedule than in other months. Reducing it to the fact that the games were played in December is just stupid. and if you do that, why not also say that Romo never lost to the Giants in December? Aaah, doesn't fit doom scheme I guess.

Jason Le Canfora is a Commander hack. Of course he thinks the cowboys will fail. He is repeating the Commander fan matra of the cowboys december collapse.

What I like is how they act like we don't have good players on this team.

Our team is loaded. Absolutely loaded.

Im not saying we dont have some warts but even the players that we consider terrible, like a Ken Hamlin, are really solid players in the big scheme of things.

Plus guys like Mike Jenkins, Anthony Spencer, Doug Free, and Miles Austin still have another month to get even better before the playoffs begin.

We still have upside heading into December.

It is such a stupid cliche to say a team, or a person doesn't play well or does play well in <insert month> without giving a quantifiable reason how a month somehow affects how a person plays the game.

This is plausible deniability at it's best.

What they really mean is they think Tony Romo and Dallas are not mentally tough enough to hang in for 16 games plus the post season. The problem is they have no idea why so they just spew out stupid Jessica Simpson references and T.O. garbage. The truth is the media hates Wade Philliups.

Wade Philliups gives the most awful press conferences and portraits a bumbling southern idiot that elitist love to put down. They think they know more about football than him and assume that he is too stupid to have a team prepared in December and the playoffs.

I promise you, if Parcells was still the coach, even with the exact same results, the media would never blast this team or Tony for being "bad" in December.

The use of the Chiefs game, even though they won, is a negative against the 'boys to help justify his position. But not one mention of the big bad 'contender' Steelers ACTUALLY losing to them. What does that say about the Steelers?

I find the media agenda against the Cowboys hilarious.

I think you have to have a solid running game (and not just in the 4th quarter) and you have to have a solid defense to win in December because of the weather and the tougher schedule. This team's OL and defense has not been good enough to win in Decembers past,,, this year I think the defense is better and that's about it.

Hopefully that's good enough for 3 wins and a playoff birth so the media can let up on the whole December schtick,,,

He has the Eagles as contenders, too... Just a few weeks after we beat them at their place.

I also notice that the Eagles are getting props for winning a close game at Washington yesterday, complete with all the cliche lines like "They aren't always pretty, but they know how to win." When we beat the Skins in an ugly game, they said it was a sign of how much we were struggling.

Gotta love it.
