Serious Question: Is Dak better now than Romo in his prime?

Nah Romo was a more talented QB. Though it didn't mean much because of his health issues.

I think the better questions are: Is Dak better than the competition he'll face this year? And, will the team around him be better than the competition they'll face?

Anyone with two active brain cells would say no. Simple question? Who would you build a team around?

Romo was by FAR the better quarterback. To think otherwise is complete lunacy and comical. The people who solely blame him for all the late game int would be your small brain posters. Simply look at the bigger picture and it's remarkable what he did with the teams he had bar a year or two

Romo picked up and made alot of average players look good. Many left Dallas to go on to do nothing else. He also practically ran his own offense per ex teammates. He got tons of hate for his picks at the end of the game however it's going to happen when you carry trash defenses for the majority of your career.

Romo had what 23 or 24 comeback victories between 2006 - 2015 leading the nfl. Lead ALL quarterbacks in the 4th quarter and overtime passer rating during that span. His cowboys defense from 2010 on gave up more 30+ games besides two other teams. Let's not forget quarterbacks such as Brady, Rivers and etc had more game ending plays then Romo from 2011 on. Romo also had overall good postseason stats.

In those 8-8 seasons the only reason we come close to .500 is because of Romo. Majority of other quarterbacks would of barely won 4-5 games with those trash teams. If Romo didn't waste his career in Dallas and played for an actual football organization no doubt in my mind he would be a superbowl champion easily.

Now I hate posting stats as the go to argument so I was posted during his era vs all quarterbacks. Dak is still young and can improve greatly. To early to tell but as of right now absolutely not.

Dak cannot compete with a healthy Romo.

Right now it's pretty much a push. Both good statistically, but neither with playoff success.

Those saying Dak had better teams must forget some of the great teams Romo played with. Romo had an excellent oline, had T.O, Dez, Terry Glenn, Witten, Barber, Felix, Julius, Murray. Then players like Miles Austin, Cole Beasley, the Cowboys even traded for Roy Williams to give him more weapons. Romo had plenty to work with but never got it done.

We should all hope Dak surpasses Romo in success rather than trying to validate why our opinion is correct.

He had one of, if not the best offensive line in their prime. Smith, Martin, Fredrick were all 25 years old. Ron Leary, Doug Free, and a rookie La'el Collins. An explosive Zeke, a HOF safety valve TE, Dez, Williams, Beasely, and Butler. He went 13-3 while just being asked to be a bus driver...he walked into about as good a situation a rookie QB could.

The QB position, even from when Romo got started, has changed a lot and those stats without context are misleading and is no accurate indicator of who the better player is.

So i guess we will never know then.

What is the accurate measure now then? Super Bowls or bust? How does Mahomes rank against the great Aikman?

No you don’t understand or you just don’t get it Dak played because TR was hurt that’s why he played and to get back on target Dak isn’t close to TR yet and as his injuries pile up the excuses will pile up just like they did for TR.

Unfortunately the team is not better in the prime of either quarterback. We've done no more with Dak at the helm than with prime Romo. Could be we need a coaching staff in their prime to get us over the hump.

Love these stats!! Dak is the better QB1! However, Romo shouldn't have retired. Imagine if he would have stayed as a QB2 long enough to come in to QB1 when Dak got hurt, we would have won it all. Romo was at the peak of his career when he retired. True shame. QB's play till their 50 theses days, not sure why Romo hung it up so fast. PS--- his announcer skills are quite possibly the most annoying of anyone I've ever heard, no one cares if you can predict the next play call!! Spoiler city!
