Serious question: Murray guaranteed money

I really think Murray is out of philly after this year.

Question: how much guaranteed money will he walk away with?

I could see him back in Dallas.

Would the guarantee money for eagles and new contract for Dallas get him close to his mega deal if he stayed with eagles?

He got 18 million guaranteed. 5 million bonus, 2015 and 2016 salaries, and a roster bonus this year. If the Eagles cut him next year they are on the books for 13 million in dead money.

Can't see them cutting bait with him that fast, even if this year is a complete tank for them. 13 mill is a ton of money.

The possibility has crossed my mind as well. I think Chip pulls a Spurrier and resigns at the end of the season, and I can see a new coach wanting to start from scratch and not think a RB is worth it.

Well...

I would agree with former... Not latter.

Murray is a good building block if you know what the heck you are doing lol

He will be there at least 2 years.

You know, I am branded an Eagles fan. I hate them but you guys need to be realistic. Yes, they are 0-2 and look bad. We are 2-0 and down to Weeden. There is so much of this season left. Let's see how the teams are in about 6 more weeks and we have a better idea how this might play out.

Yea, if the offense sputters like it has been so far, there will be a new HC there next year after Chip bails to the NCAA.

I would assume the new coach would be someone who could take advantage of Murrays talents.

That being said, if Murray finishes the year with a 170 yards rushing, he might be cut just to start fresh for the 16 season. Depending of course on how their cap looks like and if they could swallow that hit

There is no chance the Eagles are taking $13MM in dead money next year. None. Zip. Nada. No way. No how.

If they did that, it would be such a catastrophically stupid move.

I bet you can't wait until your team is in the win column

I'm gonna say they start using him between the tackles as opposed to running him around the edges before much longer.. Unless the fans lynch the coach...

By the way when will there be a Part II to the Series of questions and will there be a prequel?

Oh right, because they display smart moves in the past (see 2015 offseason)

But you could at least come up with a raw justification for what they did. They didn't like McCoy's attitude so they traded him for a ILB, something they needed. They then needed a TB so they signed the best one on the market. They showed some fiscal sanity in not overpaying for Jeremy Maclin.

Cutting Murray after one year and taking a $13MM hit? Insane. I honestly do not know but has there ever been a player cut in what should be his prime years and a team has taken such a massive cap hit?

Overpaying Murray. Trading Foles for the always injured Bradford, Trading McCoy for the always and currently injured Alonso. Trading one of their best corners for nothing, overpaying Maxwell. Then to top it off, Tebow.

I agree. I think the Eagles are a team that needs to figure out how to use the personnel they've got after so many changes. Unless Kelly is stubborn about trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, some adjustments will be made. If not, there's no way Kelly stays as coach after this season.
