Bobby Belt on the radio - McCarthy leaned into 49ers playoff loss. Brought it up consistently throughout offseason, training camp, regular season, team meetings, etc.

Mike Fisher on Youtube - McCarthy made sure every one in organization top to bottom knew we got "big boyed" last year.

Jon Machota on Media Mash - Players are licking their chops for this rematch.

Nate Netwon on DC.com - Likes the vibe he's getting in the building this week.

Just some interesting tidbits I've seen in the media the last few days.

All that revenge stuff goes out the window the moment the game starts - this is just rah rah stuff. Execution and gameplan is all that matters once they get on the field.
If the revenge talk is what it takes to get them fired up and prevents them from sleepwalking early in an elimination game as we've seen in recent years, i'm all for it.
But yeah emotion without execution won't matter all that much...

I like it and heard Dak mention something about they have been building to get a chance again since last year. Whatever motivates you. My only issue is I think both teams look a little different and I’m not sure the 49ers care and just want to gameplan and take it to us at home. I think when things get this hyped the games start sloppy with everyone amped. Need to take it down a notch. I flew out to LA for the Rams game after we beat Seattle and there was a lot of the same talk with Coop etc. We got ran over. Just have to play your game. Once you get punched it’s game on

I don't believe that. This is still a game of emotion.
No, it's a game of chess. Matchups and gameplans. doubt any players, mid-game, are thinking about what happened a season before. It's all about what is happening on the field at that moment. All the bulletin board material is for practice and social media trash talk and media soundbites.

These are pro athletes getting paid millions of dollars; if you think revenge is what will get them over the top, or make them more focused..,i guess you can think that. This ain't Al Bundy at Polk High. But preparation and execution as well as aggression will be the biggest factors in determining who controls the LOS. Revenge goes out the door once you get smacked by your opponent or you smack your opponent. Set the tone for the rest of the game.

Revenge will keep you focused this week which is good

Revenge will get you hyped to play and play physical which is good

Still need to execute and have an effective game plan or we will get “big boyed” again and all the revenge emotion will be meaningless

I hope, hope hope that Quinn and Moore have something special otherwise were toast

Where does aggression comes from?

While I tend to agree, I do think the attention it’s received right from training camp puts us in a better position in terms of preparedness for the 49ers on what is a short week. It’s not about trying harder, it’s about being on the same page and locked in on assignments.

Watching Warner's Breakdown of the 49ers offense, one thing that jumped out was the defenses eyes deceiving them. All that motion with interchangeable personnel assignments had the Seahawks, in particular, out of position in coverage and repeatedly abandoning contain on the edge. The Cowboys are also very susceptible to overreaction with movement, especially on the edges and in coverage.

Quinn will have a good plan in place for Kyle Shanahan's scheme. He has probably been working on it since the Titans game. The Cowboys D won't get away with undisciplined play Sunday, the talent on the 49ers will exploit them badly. Having success against SF on 1st down will be huge for the defense and that will put more pressure on Purdy to make plays and allow the Cowboys defense to do what they do best...pressure the QB.

Too much emotion won't be effective in this one.
