On Christmas Eve 1989 I was sitting by the radio listening to Dallas lose to the Packers 20-10. I tell you, there is nothing worse than hearing about your QB being sacked while the rest of your family is enjoying themselves in the other room.

Give us your take on the game. Or point me to a thread where you wrote about it please. Tell us about those field passes?

I was actually more nervous after we took the lead. I knew there was enough time on the clock for Philly to come back and with McMahon entering the game with fresh legs I was not sure what to expect. That would have really hurt to come from behind and then lose the game in the closing seconds. As I mention in another thread I have never left a game early or stopped watching a game no matter how bad it gets, it just does not seem right to turn my back on the Boys. I'm with them through the good and the bad

I watched the game until the end. But I must admit I was so nervous that we they were going to make that last fg that when they lined up for it I turned the TV off said a prayer and counted to 5 before turning the tv back on to see the result.

It must have been a darn good prayer. LOL I was really not convinced that Philly would kick it until they actually did, I really expected to see Detmer pull the ball up and try to make a play. 60 yarder is hard enough but when the kicker is coming off an injury I felt the odds were a lot less. Then again I think that was the 1st missed FG aginst us. LOL

I agree a 60 yarder coming off an injury is near impossible, but given the current streak of made fg's against us, I could just envision Akers hitting straight through the uprights with 10 yards to spare.

I was actually in Chat during the game til the very end, but that wasn't my point.

I just hate when people question the loyalty of a fan, because they didn't do something or they post something you don't like.

It doesn't offend me, it annoys me. Minor difference.

Why can't I question the loyalty of a fan who leaves a game early or turns the TV off? Anybody who did that is not that loyal of a fan. Everybody has been dying for two weeks for this game and they couldn't even stick it out for 3 1/2 hours of their life because Dallas was losing. What a bunch of spoiled, fairweather babies! Who needs 'em? When the going gets tough they bail.

No kidding..I thought all we had done was delay the inevitable (and I was almost sick when I saw Barber lay it on the ground...by the way, why was he in at that time...hasn't he had a bit of the fumblerooskies in the past?). WAY too much time on the clock aftert the pick and TD by Roy for me to feel comfortable.

I have developed a new philosophy regarding NFL coaches. Many are brilliant..but even the most brilliant will pull a few moves per game that just leave ya scratchin' your head.

I am just now beginning to learn to accept this.

While I don't agree with your message, I have to give you major props for going to Philly. That is the most hostile stadium to play in. And if you are a Cowboy, it's even worse. That must not have been a comfortable experience regardless of how good the game was. I know that stadium well. You are basically putting yourself at risk into getting hit if you wear a Cowboys jersey at that stadium.

I wasn't "Crazy" enough to wear Cowboys stuff to the game. I have a wife and kids to think about. But I did stand up and cheer when they were coming back.

It's not even about being crazy, really. I paid $350 for tickets at the 40 yard line, lower level, no more than 20 feet from the Cowboys' bench. There's no way I am going to wear my jersey, get baited into a fight and get thrown out in the first quarter. I saw that happen last night on two separate occasions and I feel really bad for those Cowboys fans who had to miss a spectacular end to the game.

I've been to a number of games over the years (though only my second MNF game), but this one really was special.

That's what I'm talking about. Not to mention the fact that many people have been jumped just walking into the stadium. No thank you. I'll watch somewhat quietly while you scream, yell, and lose your voice, and laugh to myself as you walk back to your cars hanging your heads wonering what just happened.

Why is it the fans are held to a higher standard than the team. They did not even show up for the first 55 minutes but the fans are expected to get hyped for the game, show up/watch that ---- forr 55 min, and not get totally irritated with a team that is playing with any emotion or fire.

I'd rather have a team that doesn't give up when it's trailing by 13 points late in the fourth quarter than a team that behaves like some fans who get "hyped up" for the game but give up before the game's over.

With 10 minutes left in the game I told my wife that I was going to bed because I had to get up early. By the time I got back from the bathroom she had turned off the tv and all of the lights. I looked at her like she was crazy and asker her how she could be married to me for 15 years and believe that I would skip a single minute of a Cowboys game regardless of the score.

Sometimes people leave early because it hurts too bad to see your team lose the game.

Who says your team has to lose just because it's behind? You only leave if you don't have faith in your team's ability to win.

Yep, it was a real pain waiting in traffic after the Cowboys' 43-39 comeback win over Seattle last season. If I was smart, I would have left when we were down by 10 with less than three minutes to play. Then I'd have gotten home a whole hour earlier. And everyone knows, being there for one of the greatest comebacks in franchise history isn't worth getting home an hour later or anything.
