Shanahan HC, Wade OC?

Apologies if this is a silly question. I've been sick in bed all day with the flu and haven't been up on my daily Cowboys news.

My boyfriend just came home and told me that all day on the Fan they were saying that

a) Wade Phillips is getting a raise and moving to OC and
b) Shanahan will become the new HC

I take it this is just speculation, but has anyone else heard anything similar, or is my bf pulling my leg?

Wade would be the DC not the OC.

Shanny as the OC and future HC would make more sense, but he probably wouldn't want to do that either.

Combine that with Garrett moving to DC and Gawd that would be hysterical!!

Everytime I see "Shanahan" in a thread title, I get excited that maybe, just maybe, there is something new in the works and MS is really coming to Dallas.

And everytime, my hopes are dashed as I read the thread, and I'm left feeling like the kid who got an Atari instead of a Nintendo for Christmas.

Is there anyone who is aware of any of the assistant coaches that could be available in '09?

I'm somewhat torn between bringing in a popular coach who has had some experience at being a head coach as opposed to hiring a up and coming assistant.

Fox, Whisenhunt and Harbaugh are all 1st time Head Coaches who used to be assistants and still managed to lead their teams deep into the playoffs.

Wade may not be the best fit for this team right now but OMG! Does Jerry have anyone else in mind to lead this team with all the talent that they have to be the next Cowboys Super Bowl champions?

That actually ahppened to me one year. We got the Atari 2600, instead of Nintendo. Had to wait another year to get my Excitebike fix.
