No dude. He fired Jimmy Johnson. That had absolutely ZERO well intent behind it. If you wanna sit there and give him all of this credit for hiring Jimmy, I hope you're willing to blast him for the firing. That was his first of MANY ego-driven mistakes that did not have good intentions. They had SELFISH INTENTIONS that catered to only him.
Wait, wait, wait wait, wait.

Now you think I am saying there are good intentions behind firings? No, I said good intentions behind hirings.

Hiring and firing are exact opposite.

I would like Cowher but actually Dungy would be my choice by far.Dungy can coach a defense and gets respect from players.Dungy built a championship team in TB and Gruden won with it.He was fortunate to get Peyton but still the guy is a guru.My opinion-A black coach will go further because the majority of players are black. They respond better to a Black coach these days and i can understand that.Get a mastermind OC and DC.

I thought Dungy was retired, for good?

Him and Cowher are the only retreads I'm actually interested in. I just didn't think Dungy was a realistic option.

By no means would I reject Shanahan here, but he might have more question marks surrounding him than any of the other big name coaches around.

I mean, here's a guy who has a playoff-victory drought that rivals ours. And he seems to have a reputation for grooming quarterbacks, but he hasn't done diddly without John Elway. Not sure I buy the idea that he is the one and only guy Romo needs.

Frankly, the more I think about it, the more I think Holmgren's resume (past and present) is more impressive, but I don't like his age. Here's a guy that took a barren franchise to the Super Bowl recently and developed a guy in Hasselbeck that wasn't a sure-fire, top draft pick. The role he played in Favre's development also makes me think he would really have Romo's ear.

Gruden would be a fun pick, and he's the youngest of the bunch if I'm not mistaken, but I'm afraid he's much more bark than bite. Granted, the talent pool diminished around him in Tampa, but ...

For obvious reasons, I'd have no qualms about Dungy. I just can't imagine him working for Jerry, and he's the one coach out there that I actually think might not come back.

Very good summary of those guys. Out of the big-name guys, Holmgren has the best resume.
