I like this player and would be tempted at 27. Here he is vs South Carolina. Beyond the two sacks, what I really like is that he rushed as much from DT as he did at DE. At a minimum this year, he would be a great nickel, inside rusher after Hardy comes back.

Isn't he going to have surgery for his turf toe and be out for a while?

Not sure honestly....some reports of that but his camp says that a doc recently looked at it and said no surgery. So who knows at this point. Guess we'll see how far he falls on Thursday. Im guessing that if he is actually still on the board at 27 we pass though. Something is clearly up beyond a misdemeanor pot charge if that happens.

THe turf toe thing had me scared to death. It is a much more serious injury than people care to admit, at least as far as being able to play football.

Add in the arrest, and there is no way I could pull the trigger on a guy in the first like this.

That is way too intellectual of an approach.

Ray had one job. Not to go out in public with his weed until Thursday. He had passed all the drug screens. He had it all under control except for a turf toe thing.

What he did was far more brainless in my book.

So getting caught unsuspectedly is dumber than knowing you have a drug test for your chance to enter the NFL and failing it?

We'll never agree on that.

Not me. I just can't excuse knowing you have a drug test coming for the biggest job audition of your life and failing it.

Either the guy is that addicted and just can't stop or he's that stupid and will remain so in the NFL.

To be fair... when JJ offered him $5 million to get busted so he would drop to 27... he had to take it

What a maroon. Within one week to the biggest day of your life to this point, and you can't keep your stash hidden for a week? These guys are so freaking stupid it's hilarious.

You literally have to be an addict or an idiot to end up in the NFL substance abuse program. Welcome aboard, Shane.

Agree to disagree.

Thinking you were off weed long enough to pass a drug screen versus knowingly driving around with it in your vehicle.

I vote the dummy who made a pure concrete choice against the dummy who could not count days well enough.

Ray got busted making a conscious choice. In fact, it is not even that. Smoke it, just don't carry it in your vehicle.

All players who smoke dope, and it is probably larger than we would imagine.

But all Ray had to do was hold off a few days and even if not leave it at home like a normal person. Not months which would be the case in a drug screen much less taking your stash out where it could be discovered.

Maybe he has a DRs note for the pain in his toe.

LOL beat me to it!

How is this guy in the locker room and with teammates? We know Gregory was loved by coaches and teammates and has a great work ethic.

Gotta agree with Risen. It's like if I have a sign up that says trap and huge red arrows pointing at it, and then you have one hidden in tall grass with no signs. If both traps catch people, one is definitely more dumb than the other

Honestly, I'm not sure why he was slated top 10 to begin with. He has good quickness and size, but is just a terrible pass rusher (he doesn't seem to be a natural at it -- wasted movements, stalled easily in 1-on-1 blocks and has no moves other than the outside speed rush) and is even worse against the run.

What an idiot.................like others have said, if we are going to draft a pot head we should go with Gregory.

I've seen multiple boards where Ray isn't in the top 32. As big of an idiot as Gregory is, I don't recall him out of the top 15 anywhere until the off the field stuff started piling up.

Agree.......

He's gonna slide out of the 1st.....just watch

How is Missouri able to keep everything under wraps w/ the number of "smart" people it has on it's roster?.....Amazes me this team hasn't been hit w/ probation already.

I realize you're joking, but weed really is a wonderful muscle relaxant and pain reliever. It's no surprise that weed use is so high in professional sports, especially amongst football players (who are constantly banged up or sore from all the time spent in the gym). Add to the fact that smoking weed in no way enhances performance on the field, I wish the NFL would just look the other way. I know that probably won't ever happen (unless MAYBE it's legalized on a federal level), but I don't see how it'll hurt anyone if they did.

I also get that medicinal use most likely isn't the reason why they're lighting up, but as long as they do it on their own time, I could care less....

With all that said however, Ray (and others) are plain dumb to get caught so close to the draft.
