Shango is Dead On

Pretty clear to me that he thinks that the Cowboys are spinning their wheels in the same spot year after year...and making the same type excuses to allow it to remain that way.

...but that's just a guess.

And I too find him EXTREMELY annoying. :laugh2:
Keep doing your thing. Love the passion. Love the humor. I love the Cowboys....but they exhaust me. I have become numb to the ringmaster running this circus. But at the end of the day....football more than ever is about entertainment. Only one fanbase out of 32 is happy at the end of the year. The popularity of the NFL has all NFL owners very aware of the money making potential....and they are exploiting that to the fullest. The older I have gotten, the more apparent that has become to me. Case in point....Montrae Holland. Is he the next Larry Allen? Of course not. But did he perform better than the guys we are lining up at Guard this year? Absolutely! And the reason he is not in Dallas? Money! And this from an owner that traded 2 premium picks and gave 45 for Roy Williams. He won't spring a couple of million dollars to potentially get the run game going...which would solve a lot of problems with this offense. And it's not just about the money Holland is asking for. It's the amount of money they have already paid the Guards they signed via free agency. Jerry does not admit the mistake in signing one of them.....nor does he want to spend any more money on the position. So as fans we have to sit back and watch DeMarco Murray get hit in the backfield play after play......all over money and ego!

Anyone out there still want to convince me that Jerry is all about winning? He KNOWS this team is not good enough. Forget what he say to the microphone. And of course Montrae Holland does not mean Super Bowl. But no doubt he would make us better...but I guess we should all applaud Jerry's fiscal responsibility? Over what amounts to peanuts?

Before every year family and friends ask me what I think the Cowboys will do this year....and for the last 5 or 6 years I reply "Let me see the oline, and I will tell you what they will do". Well I have seen the oline...so I am at peace with where this season is headed.

Excellent spot on post.

I don't get, how some people don't get the video ?

'sippin' the Kool-Aid'

It was tongue in cheek, but it's how many fans deal with their expectations not being met, and he was spot on. Read the board here, some of the comments he made are similar to many threads started over the years. And the same could be said for any fanbase.

Everyone here gets the videos, they just want to pretend they don't because they are the ones he is talking about in the video. Some fans just let their love for the team get in the way of reality. The culture here is all messed up because of Jerry Jones. He is cheap, he holds on to players too long because of his ego, he won't let the coach do his job without interfering with him, he turns the stadium into a circus, and all he cares about is money. Until he is gone NOTHING will change.

I love his comment about Romo. Basically he is saying Romo had a complete meltdown at this same exact time last year and then he got it all together.
So we have to go through these give away meltdown games every year from Romo before he starts using his head?

How many times is Romo going to fumble the ball when we are in scoring range by not taking a sack? It was like De ja vu on Monday night, he did the exact same thing he did against the Bucs.

Seriously...I've read through all these posts and thank you all. These are tough times right now and putting these type videos out there is EXTREMELY tough. For the past two years I've let people basically intimidate me into making softer videos to make the fan base "feel better"....I've parsed my words..failed to talk about certain players, coaches etc. It discouraged me so bad that I decided to quit and made a "Goodbye" vid. My subscribers then talked me into continuing...But I promised myself, that if I was to move forward, I was gonna be completely honest with myself and what I see because that's what the internet is all about. So people can argue, call me "annoying", etc and it doesn't bother one bit because I'm being totally honest with myself.

We all hope that somehow this ship can be turned around but if it doesn't, I think we have to make SURE Jerry doesn't sell this same product to us again next year. Enough is Enough...

Thanks! I'll be lurking!

I'm glad you are being yourself and not sugarcoating anything. Keep up the videos, I freaking love them and I know a lot of fans out there do too.

What is your opinion on Romo leading us to the playoffs? No sugarcoating....

Romo is a Super Bowl quarterback if we used him like Alex Smith, Ponder, etc but that's never going to happen because:

1. We have no signs of a running game.
2. Jason Garrett's system and playcalling
3. Jerry Jones will for the team to be "exciting" to sell more tickets, jerseys, etc...

Those 3 things work totally against Romo and leaves him trying to do everything.

Youre right and I also believe our fanbase overrates our own guys and eats the Jerry cheese every year. Im sick of hearing about how our DE's plug gaps blah blah and stuff the run...whatever...Ngata and Watts play in 3-4's and dominate. We overvalue Hatcher/Spears/Coleman ... Im sure Ill get burned for saying Hatcher is overrated, but he is.

OL and DL will doom this team again for the 2nd year in a row.

I am glad you showed up. Don't change a thing in the way you are doing your videos. The truth hurts and some fans don't want to hear it, but they need to hear it. Some will label you as negative, but I consider the failure of this organization as the real negative. Keep up the good work. I wish this team had as much pride in being a Cowboy as you do in being a fan.

So our defense had nothing to do with the Bucc's offense sucking? The same offense that put up 30+ on the Giants a week prior? But against us they all of a sudden were incompetent?

And like I said, it sucks to expect losses from the team you grew up loving. Why not just go and be a fan of another team? Who wants to invest time and money into a team they "expect" to lose?

That same bucs team that blew a big lead and did nothing in the second half against the Giants? Yes our defense played well but it was helped out by the fact that the Bucs were scared to throw the ball on first or second down.

I love this team. That's why I've been a fan all my life..I go into every Sunday wearing my cowboy shirt and every Sunday I root for them to win.. but rather then be disappointed every week or continue to fool myself into thinking that this team is good is why I don't expect them to win.

I can't just go and root for another team because the emotional attachment would never be the same.

Hell, Shango helps being a Cowboy fan because he doesn't make me feel like I'm wrong, I don't mind optimism but alot of people like to keep their heads in the sand about the team.

i like the way shango did not care if he gets kool aid on the felix jersey.

Good stuff, shango. Keep up the good work.

Sadly, my pitcher of kool-aid is empty and there's none left in the cabinet.

Shango, bro...that's not what he wanted to hear. He hates Romo with a passion. I'm sure he wanted you to tear Romo a new ***, instead you just deflated his little enjoyment of slamming Romo every chance he gets.

If you want to make him your friend, tell him Romo sucks and should be cut...then you will have a BFF...!

And, keep up the good work, I love your videos.

;)
