I think the "offer" they are citing here is how much Shanle has to pay the Cowboys to stay.

Nors, what do you think the reason(s) were that Shanle's play went into the toilet? I'll give you that he had a couple of good games, but nothing that would indicate he has a long term future. Perhaps year to year depending on how much depth is at the position.

Shanle was OK. I don't want him to be starting 16 games for us. But as a guy to fill in and play ST, I'd trust him.

I think he is great as a nickel backer/ST/depth.

His play severely dropped off once he stepped into a full time role. He stopped making plays in the nickel as well.

Maybe he just needs another year or two. Maybe needs to get a bit bigger. Maybe this is all we can expect from him. There is a reason he lasted until the 7th and got sent packing by the Rams I am sure.

Don't want him starting. Like him as nickel/ST/depth.

Shanle is below average against the run, awful in coverage and will be out of a job when the final 53 is set in September.

Book it.

I personally hope that he's fodder and not someone we have to have because we don't have anyone else.

...and done Shanle will be relegated to the bench or off the team.

He played with such limited capacity that it was probably an embarassment to himself to be considered taking a smaller player's position - namely Nguyen.

This guy has a tendency to get swallowed up in sweeps and doesn't have a good feel for LB depth in coverage. It's not to say he might not turn out, but he has a long ways to go. It's not impossible, but he has a long road.

I thought that role was for Keith Davis?

For a while, I thought Shanle played well. Afterwards, he did seem to fall off pretty dramatically. I know that he had a pretty painful ankle sprain, so that might have been some of the problem...

I wouldn't write him off the team just yet.

Shanle is like this generation's Jim Schwantz.

There is not another comparison that sums it all up better.

I'm so sick of the phrase.... "Book it"

It's so overplayed. Might want to list that one right next to "tweener"

"Book it" actually means, "I have no idea what's going to happen, either"
