I expect the Cowboys to attack the Browns with perimeter running plays early and often utilizing both Barber and Felix Jones.

That would minimize Rogers' effect and play into one of the Browns' defensive weaknesses.

I also expect to see more and better-executed screen plays from the Cowboys' offense this year.

rogers lost 30 pounds and can be a force, but I would expect we would game plan for him.

If the Cowboys can't beat the Browns even with Shaun Rogers at his best, we got major problems.

After this game, we should know if we have a dominating defense or not.

sometimes you have to have luck, or like the Lord on your side;

you must admit the Detroit game and the Buffalo game, the cowboys were very lucky

With that logic, New England and Philly were just lucky against us last year because those were close losses. A win is a win, it doesn't matter if you're lucky or not unless the offcials determine the outcome. If your "luck" comes as a result of execution, then you earned the victory.

As far as Cleveland, road games are tough, but Dallas was 7-1 on the road last year, only losing to Washington in a game they (unfortunately) didn't show up for. The Cowboys are better than Cleveland at just about every position, so all this whining is unwarranted. I get butterflies with each upcoming game too, but some posters on here are just unreal.

Dallas is expected to win but I don't see this as an easy game. Browns do have some very good offensive fire power or their own and have shown the ability to put up points so I don't know why many are treating this like a walk in the park?

Of course it isn't a walk in the park.

But some of the yahoos here are acting like we are the ones who should be scared of Cleveland.

We have every reason to be confident in our team's abilities and expect them to come out and be competitive and be in the driver's seat. Cleveland should be fearing playing us. But some fans here are acting like we are a 5-11 team trying to start another losing season.

Like the Gints. They had the ball bounce their way quite a bit in the last 1/4 of the season.

I don't expect Rogers to line up against our big guys.

I don't think if Kosier was in there it would make a difference. I've said
all off-season that Kosier is a weak point on this stellar line. His injury maybe
a blessing if Hollande can play and get up to speed quick enough.

Dallas should have made a trade for hollande before TC.

You're assuming this will be one of the two games he actually bothers to show up for this year. Probably not a bad guess but I'm not overly worried. He'll be dead tired by the third quarter and won't be a factor late where we pull away.

I agree we are no 5-11 team and neither is Cleveland. I believe in this team and expect good things but I guess I just do not under-estimate the ability of other teams. Cleveland has some good talent on that team and it will take a good game on the part of the Cowboys to walk out of there with a win. I guess growing up with Landry as our HC and how on his coach’s show he highlighted the best of an upcoming opponent has just stuck with me over the years. By and large around here there are many more who like to trash talk the upcoming opponent and act like they are some High School team and then act like the sky is falling when we do lose a game. I see Cleveland as a very good opening challenge to the Cowboys

Shaun Rogers made a huge impact in our game against Detroit last season.

To the tune of an entire tackle.

You read that right folks. Shaun Rogers was disrupting our offense, making plays up and down the field, and registering 1 whole tackle. I'm certainly terrified of what this phenom will do now that he's "revitalized" in Cleveland and might get matched up on Procter.

What a fat load. Seriously. Might as well get worked up over how we'll possibly cover Mike Williams if someone signs him.

I'd expect to see DeMarcus Ware lining up against Shaffer all game long and cause some serious problems for the offense. With Quinn being a shorter QB pressure on the edge without bringing a blitz could stall this Browns offense. Something to keep an eye out for. I don't expect Ware to line up against their big guys.

I don't think if backup Ryan Tucker was in there it would make a difference. I've said all off-season that Shaffer/Tucker is a weak point on this stellar line.

Cleveland should have made a trade for Jason Peters before TC.

Saying Kosier is a week point on a line with 3 pro bowlers is somewhat obvious. But Kosier is no slouch either. He's pretty good if you watch him. I'm betting a guy who lost his starting job in Denver isn't going to come in and take Kosier's job just like that. He was brought in for depth.

But maybe he could come in and dive at Rogers knees for a couple of plays. He is from Denver.

Actually I read a few weeks ago that Rogers was working hard and keeping his weight under control. So don't bet that he wouldn't present a problem simply cause last year he didn't control his weight and his conditioning suffered.

OTOH, I still believe the Cowboys can beat the Browns in Cleveland. I just hope Garrett has studied all the game film re the Browns from last year and preseason. The Browns will have some surprises for us but, from the little we showed during preseason, we should have a heck of a lot more surprises for them.

The only place Rogers causes problems is the local Dunkin Donuts. :laugh2:

I certainly hope we attack the perimeter running the football early and then work the interior late once they get worn out.

They are weak on the edges and unless their line can keep our extra linemen and Anderson from the second level, they are in huge trouble. They were a bad team against the run last year and it was not just because their line was not good. To make matters better for us, Corey Williams was supposed to be a big upgrade at strongside end and I read he is struggling controlling gaps ahead of McGinest, who is no spring chicken. If we get people on Andra Davis and D'Qwell Jackson, we should have a field day as McGinest is a touch slow and Wimbley overpursues way too much.

I hope there is a steady diet of stretch plays with Felix Jones early. Then Rogers will eventually tap out then they should be ripe for Barber in the second half. That was our formula last year and it worked like a charm until we changed it up against the Giants. As long as our line is in shape, I believe it is the way to go.
