Shocking Myles Garrett Trade to Cowboys Urged As Key to $100 Million Plan

100 mil. Lot of money. Can't afford him.

Hey, what's Daks cap hit next year?

The Dallas Cowboys’ offseason has arrived, which means it’s time for fans of "America’s Team'' to lay claim to other teams’ stars in football’s version of Manifest Destiny.

This time around, the Dallas faithful have their eyes set on bringing Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett back home. Frustrated with the Browns – still drafting in the top five nearly a decade after taking Garrett with the first pick in 2017 – the superstar has suggested that he needs to see a reasonable path to success. Quarterback Deshaun Watson’s contract might not make that possible.

He is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL (this side of Micah, of course.) And the Cowboys, no matter what the naysayers whine about, can afford whatever the price tag is. ... via their $100 million potential cap room.

Virtually any other offseason exercise is more worthwhile than wishing upon a star for a future Hall of Famer, but the idea of Parsons and Garrett together – with a ball-hawking secondary and franchise quarterback carrying their weight – is enticing enough to daydream about as more fortunate teams get the thrill of January football.

Only Dumb and Dumber could mess this up... wait!

Why do we do this to ourselves? Why? You know this franchise isn't going to bring in anyone else. At the most you will get some player no one has heard off that has hand some horrific injury history willing to play for peanuts. Or some player who is literally on the verge of retirement. That's who is going to get signed.

When it's all said and done, Myles Garrett will probably go down as the best defender of this decade. So in a vacuum, how could you not want to acquire a player of that caliber.

But when we already have Parsons, and we need to pay Parsons, I don't know how you justify having two All-Pro pass rusher sized cap hits on the payroll. Especially with Dak getting paid like an All-Pro QB, and CeeDee getting paid like an All-Pro WR.

Shocking?

The only thing that will be shocking is when a rumor starts that does not include the Dallas Cowboys.

It's like the fanbase shows up to the offseason with ballgags and whips.
You may be too young to remember but comedian Flip Wilson had a routine in the late 60s/early 70s called, "THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!"

Well. After 30 years, this is what Jerry Jones makes us do. :(

i would LOVE for that to happen.
one of the best DEs on the planet.
it won't.
but i would love to land a player the caliber of garrett...with parsons.
thats too tall/big harvey stuff right there.

"Urged", "Linked", "Rumored"...must be Cowboys offseason, and must be total garbage. Wake me when the yacht returns for the bargain bin.

Why do you say that when you know it isn't true?
Because many sources close to the Cowboys have reported it. How much cap space could they possibly have after paying Dak and CeeDee and still have enough room to re-sign Parsons? Some are acting like the Cowboys could go out and sign whoever they want with no problem. That’s what isn’t true.
