Shocking stat on Cooper

Doesn't surprise me. The 2014 and 2015 injuries sapped what little speed and explosion Dez had, which made it harder for him to play his game.
Dez's hands also started to deteriorate, so it was too difficult to justify his salary.

He is an incredible route runner.

As I said before, he is a 6-1, 210 pound Beasley with more speed. Cooper might actually win in a change of direction contest over Beasley.
IDK about that but he'd give him a run for his money.

Cooper is the real deal. I want the coaching staff to “coach” Dak from forcing the ball to Cooper.

But if you don’t have a first round pick how do you acquire the QB? Keep on waiting?

A lot of QBs turn out fine without having a great supporting cast.

In fact I would say WR is the most overrated position in football and you’re not seeing a lot of big time WRs win championships.

Trade up into the first and take one. Most drafts, there is a QB who slides into the late teens or 20’s. Less chance of hitting than a top 5 pick of course.

But you’ll get a talented QB who has a chance to develop into something legit.

Dak just needs to hit him on those deep routes and he’ll get more yards.

Ill take that bet....again, how is your heel feeling?? Hope it is better....and YES two games in.. I am fine with giving up the #1 next year because I know the team would've reached for a WR. I am liking Amari each and every game thanks...
Not to mention that it probably would have taken a few years for said reached-upon rookie WR to develop. Cooper is already balling and is still young. Great decision if we indeed were going for a WR in the draft.

What's interesting about Douglas' comment on Cooper is they didn't play the Cowboys yet this year. So he's not talking about post-Dez and pre-Cooper. He's talking with Dez. They were able to cheat more when Dez was on the field than they can now with Cooper. His words not mine.

That doesn't surprise me but I bet it surprises a bunch of Dez Bryant fans.
Great observation. I rooted for Dez when he was here and I was hopeful that he would be able to resurrect his career, pre-devastating injury, but it doesn't take much to see that Cooper outclasses Dez in route running in every way. And for those that want to harp on Cooper for dropping passes in Oakland, let's not pretend that Dez didn't have his fair share of drops and fumbles here as well.

Cooper is making Dak less gunshy...that's a good thing but Dak is still in a slump..time will tell and at least there are no excuses now for Dak.
Quick-rhythm passes will be the saving grace for Dak. The less he has to process, the better.

I know most of us were shocked and upset about the first round pick.

But Cooper is a stud. He has everything you want in a receiver.

Again, it sucks to give up the first. But Cooper is legit.
The play last night when he caught the ball a few yards short of the first down and bounced off the tackle and beat the defenders to the first down would tell you everything. He is strong, fast, big and runs excellent routes. I was excited when we made the trade and still happy we have him. Eagles wanted to stack the box but couldn't.

Not only that but look at Hurns now making plays. Had a huge first down catch with an all out blitz to really helped us win. Beasley and Gallup were wide open many times as well last night. Cooper has changed this offense and for me that's worth a first rounder

What's good is that fact they have rhythm and are making connections. Unlike with the RW trade there was nothing but a lot of drops. And that was with "Romo the great".

I don’t think anyone was happy giving up a first rounder when we’re 3-4. Top 5 pick at the time. If we get into the late teens by winning games or even making the playoffs I think everyone will be happier with it. Cooper is a stud. He can be s top wideout. He’s only 24 same as rookie Ridley. It’ll be a tough pill to swallow if we end up still with top 5 pick and it ends up going to raiders. Time will tell.

Looks like AC and Dak have some chemistry going, Dak needs to work on those long balls though

True, but that wishes away one of Dak's main problems. You can't have quick rhythm passes with a guy who just won't get rid of it quick. He has plenty of chances to throw balls quickly but is just slow to fire.

You would go down with the Titanic with Dez' P in your mouth. Wake up dumby...

Man, I love when someone tries to slam somebody else's intelligence, only to swallow their own foot all the way to the knee.

cooper has had 2 consecutive games of at least 5 rec for 58 yards.

The last time a Cowboy accomplished both those marks in consecutive games was Jason Witten first two games of last year.

Looks like Cowboys finally have a weapon that can’t be totally neutralized like Beasley, Zeke, Dez the last 2 years just by putting extra attention on them.

That is what a #1 receiver is.

Shocking stat in this post.

You can literally find any combination of numbers accomplished in the last 2 games and find out how long it was since that happened last.

Please. Either understand statistics or stop using them. You amateur fantasy football folks are killing the board with dumb statistics.

Stats tell a story. And when it takes awhile to find such low numbers being accomplished it means the roster was really bad

What’s strange?

You don’t give Grandpa a NASCAR. You give it to Jeff Gordon.

Giving Dak a stud WR is like giving Grandpa a nascar. You’ll never get the full use out of it.

It’s a waste of a resource until we find a guy that can actually throw the football.
I understand your reservations about Dak. I share many of them.

But football is a business of acquiring talent. Without talented players, you can't win.

So to say the team shouldn't be acquiring talent because you don't like the QB makes no sense.

The team is better than it was before the trade. They still have a long way to go, but it's an improvement.

Stats tell a story

Cherrypicked nonsense does not.

Learn the difference or remain a sad slave to dumb fantasy takes
