Should Carr have taken a knee at the one?

I understand in the "heat of the moment" it's probably unfair to ask for that type of contemplation, but in your assessment, would we have been better off with Carr taking a knee at the one and kicking a FG?

I don't know about you, but, I saw a Giants offense go right down the field and score right before that Carr INT. And after it, to score. In no way would I want to see Carr take a knee there. Cowboys struggle with Eli all the time. They had 5 TO's. count em'. FIVE. And , still barely won. You would have to be out of your mind to wonder if Carr should take the knee there.

Besides, heeheeheh. it's the Giants, NEVER take the knee.

With your suggestion, .. had the gints got that on-sides kick at the end, they would have only needed a FG to win.

Glad we got 6

Yes, but we would have wasted a ton of time with three kneel downs and a FG. Remember, Carr scored with less than 2 minutes left.

I take the TD and force the giants to score two TD's to win, rather than kneel and kick field goals

you play to win the game, you don't play not to lose. Carr did was he was suppose to, score a TD and say game over.

Fantastic argument. Compelling and rich.

To be fair and I am not being mean when I say this, you really should expect that type of reaction with that type of question. Frankly when I read the initial post I was waiting for some worse reactions.

I understand wanting to bleed the clock some but even in that situation if he stopped on the one...you have some downs to try and get a touchdown not to try for a field goal. However what if you don't get the TD and settle for a FG and the Giants are proving in the second half of the second half that they can move down the field and score.

You don't leave points on the board.

Not sure what you are thinking here, you act like the gints are not capable of completing an 80+ TD play. They had already done that once tonight.

Nice that you are thinking outside the box, but getting 6 was the right thing to do.

If I'm not mistaken, the Giants only had one TO left. Three kneel downs and a FG attempt would have left maybe 30 seconds on the clock left, maybe even less. And they certainly would not have completed a 80 TD on our prevent D.

He was just asking a question. Surely people on this board are capable of more cognitive responses than a face.

Again, there was less than 2 minutes left and the Giants had one TO left. With three knee downs, we could have nearly run out the clock and still gone up by two scores, making attempt thereafter moot.

If he was just asking a question, the other poster was just giving an opinion that could have been much much worse.

I think folk (mostly myself) were being nice. Haha.. A win will do that. Besides the fact that this place is quite strict, so, true feelings got to be held in check.

What part of you do not leave points on the board are you missing?

Nevermind...not worth the effort.

AGAIN..

Giants were going up and down the field on this Defense. Cowboys have Struggled with the Giants team at home. And, quite frankly A LOT in the past lately..

You take the TD and squash any hope the Giants have of winning.

Yes...things like....POINTS

SMH

Good grief

No offense, but you are not making an argument. You are just saying the same thing over and over. It comes down to this -- would you rather be up by 12 with 1:50 left, or up by 9 with 20 seconds left? I'll take the latter situation every day of the week.

But again, this is an intellectual football hypothetical, which can be difficult for those with a "black and white" football mind. It's certainly not a criticism of Carr, but just a exercise in football intellect.
