Hey, Todd.

Next time, put some actual thought into your article. You can do better. A wall of text, we all know will never happen, that looked like you typed it on the pot in the 15 minutes before it was due, isn't that cool.

Thanks.

If you are going to jet up to the top of the draft by jettisoning four or five good picks...you've got to believe there is a generational talent you can lock up with virtually no question marks...

And you've got to be VERY comfortable with your roster. Do we have such a situation? Doubt it.

Agreed.......I don't think there is anybody in this draft worth making that kind of trade for, but I wouldn't mind a small trade-up (3 or 4 spots) if the right player started sliding.

Draft..draft and draft some more. Thats whats taken the club this far. A,trade is OK if its for the right player (s).

That's the way I would do it. But like I said yesterday in another thread, I would be fine with a small trade-up (3 or 4 spots) if the right player started sliding. But to answer your question, I don't really see the Cowboys moving up to the mid 1st round. I was just saying that's about as high as I could see them going if they did make a move.

What does that have to do with anything?

They're losing more in the secondary, so if Jones, Tabor, or Peppers is there at #28 i'd go with one of them.

Agreed. And this is a year Dallas have to splurge on 1 top free agent. We are really close. If im Dallas, I invite Eric Berry to the facility and chain him to a locker until he signs. He wouldn't leave here without a contract.

Then I draft, in no particular order, a DB, DL, WR/TE in the first 3 rounds.

I don't think the Cowboys are 1 pass rusher away from having a SB caliber defense. I think they're at least 2 pass rushers away, plus probably a CB or 2, depending what happens with the FAs this offseason. We need to keep as many draft picks as possible to keep stockpiling young talent, especially at DE.Trading a bunch of picks for 1 pass rusher isn't the answer. Plus, trading up for a top prospect can be very risky and hamper the rest of the draft if the player turns out to be a bust. We should all be well aware of how that turned out last time.
I love this post. With any rookie DE the first year if you get 4-6 sack out of him great. It the second year that he'll start to pay off. As for CB we have Brown. O-Scan has bad knees? There nothing like DE with bad backs - CB that cant run

Julio Jones was drafted as a quick fix 5 years ago. It didn't work. The other side of that coin is also Morris Claiborne.

Cost benefit analysis means you look at the downside too. Not considering that everything works out best case scenario is a great way to end up in a very bad spot.

Kc would have to let him test the market. If he did we wouldn't sign him. Other teams have much more money than us, like Washington

This draft is the best pass rushing draft I can recall seeing. Trading up for a pass rusher (unless it's just a few spots) would be monumentally stupid.

Last year wasn't bad either. If we can just get our FO to stop drafting dopers and injured players, we'd be okay.....
