The question surely needs to be considered by the Cowboys. We as fans have no insight into how he’s doing other than the results on the field which have been abysmal. Is it mostly coaching or is it mostly the players? Without being there every day with the team and observing first hand, we as fans have no idea how he is with the players.
I’d be interesting to hear @Ranching thoughts on the topic.
Have you watched the Draft Room every year? Maybe you should. The Coordinators definitely have a say as to who Jerry ultimately decides to draft or not, so don't tell me they don't have a say behind closed doors as to which players to keep or not on the 53 man roster!!!The Coordinators don't pay the players. They don't sign the contracts. So no, they don't bring in anybody..... You asked a different question than what you stated... Does the Coordinators have a say as to which players to keep? They can suggest it to Jerry but the ultimate decision is Jerry's... How is that boloney?
They will wait until it's too late. It should be obvious right now that he isn't the right guy for the job.yes - not sure why he hasnt been yet
His defense is just embarrassing. They will wait until it's too late. It should be obvious right now that he isn't the right guy for the job.
Terrible fit..
Not sure who would have been worse, but he's the worst I've ever seen in Dallas.
How long did we wait on Nolan to be fired? He failed the smell test early just like Eberflus.Has to be given a full season to see if he can turn it around. Right now, I agree he shouldn't be back, but it is still very early.
Most likely, we would just promote from within to finish out the season, so I think we're probably just as well off in seeing if these players can settle into this scheme. Both of our best corners are trying to round into form off injury and missing the one we drafted, and we're missing our best linebacker. Those things might help some, but we seem to be talent deficient and the only way to fix that is with more talent. The question surely needs to be considered by the Cowboys. Just because they are paid does not mean they are NFL caliber players. This defense has NFL players on it
It can't possibly get any worse than Uberpus.Yes fire him but after the season, you fire him now they either run with a modified version of the system they have or they scrap it and introduce a 4th system for the remainder of the season.
IMO you are exactly right. THIS is the problem. They will keep him employed with this hope things get better. Well, by that time we might be 3-5-1 with a tough schedule coming. I realize you cant bring in a new DC mid season-- but send Eberflus packing, pick whoever you think will be best to finish the year. Yeah you're rolling the dice with a guy clearly not ready--but currently changes are needed. Fire Eberflus, send a message to the team. It's disgusting how this defense is holding back this team. They will wait until it's too late. It should be obvious right now that he isn't the right guy for the job.

Fantastic idea. Promote from within.
