Should Garrett finally begin to get credit?

The water boy is always under the microscope on this site.
Carry the water the wrong way. .....Jerry is over paying the bum......
The water boy is Jason's puppet...get rid of the bum....
The water boy needed more reps in TC...well, ok, I can see that one....

True and it is not just this site, they are a national draw and it comes with the territory. No matter what takes place in Dallas it makes news. Jason job is to win as is the case with all coaches and will be judged by success or failure. Given the issues he is dealing with if he can get this team into post season and make a run then in my view he will have done a hell of a job

I think receivers dropping sure TD's forcing us to settle for field goals got us beat more than anything else. Good plays were called, the quarterback executed them, and touchdowns were there to be scored and the receivers came up short.

Ill give you that. But NOT moving Dez around was a big issue also. Look at the difference it made in week#2. No excuse for a coach to have taken 7 years to figure that out about moving him around EVERY game. And I do believe they werent as creative as they could have been taking advantage of Daks legs like they did in week #2

No. For what? A game that we really should have lost if Cousins hadn't overthrow 2 would-be TD's?

No doubt, they weren't creative enough with Bryant, and I bang my head against the wall when they don't utilize his size and strength advantage in his routes.

Lol, from firing last week, to hero this week??

Absolutely not. They had Dak at #3 and Moore would be your starter right now if not for his injury. Dak would be the hidden gem on the bench.
But if the team was 0-2 and Dak looked terrible wouldn't you be blaming JG for not knowing how to put in a position to succeed?

This can be said for about every team, every game.
Fans need to get over it and accept the win.

There were many other things that happen that change the course of a game. So if they score, who says we do not go down and score also.
It happened, we won...it is a W on the left column in the standings....I'll take it, and I'll smile about it......

He looks like he's doing a great job managing Dak and developing him or is this going to be like with Romo where Garrett never receives any credit not only in developing him but scheming an offensive plan which fits his talent.

Barry Switzer could win with this team.

He doesn't bring out the best in players.

He may manage them well and get their mind right through the week. I don't doubt he does that.

I just watch so much football and I see the things our offense does and it drives me crazy compared to the rest of the league.

Week 2 we did take some baby steps and for the first time in years we ran a play that exposed a cheating defense.

I gave the coaches a little credit in another thread for Dak. But I cant begin to give Garrett credit for a 1-1 start and absolve him of the past at this point. At some point Garrett needs to start being ahead of the curve instead of learning from mistakes that contribute to us getting beat. And his team always seems to come out flat and rusty the first game or to start the year.

2 wins in 14 games with quarterbacks not named Romo. I refuse to give him an ounce of credit. A broken clock is right twice a day.

I agree. I think any win is big, after all there are only 16 in a reg season. Having said that it is important that after any win you don't only look at the good things you did, you really have to focus on things that must be corrected and improved on. I felt the Cowboys did a lot of good things but clearly there was some sloppy play, miscommunication and flat out misses in this game. Enjoy the win then get back to work and correct those things.

Credit for what?

He's supposed to be an offensive master mind and his offense along with Linehan is too basic. It's like they have their 10 basic plays they run and then they throw in one wrinkle each weak. So last week it was the bootleg to take advantage of the over committing on our running game.

What's next week? It's literally one new wrinkle and that's it.

I did not even know he has been away from the team.. If that's the case then perhaps, yes, Garrett or whomever has been working directly with him and Sanchez should get credit (maybe Romo? )

He missed two days of camp in early August with a foot infection of some kind.

Beginning to get credit because of one game after he miserably screwed up the last and after 5 seasons of .500?

While it might not appear that way, I try to be fair in my praise and criticism. And, two games into this season, I'm willing to give our offensive coaches and head coach some credit for the job they've done. Overall job and overall record is another story, but focused on the here and now, I'm liking what I've seen thus far.

I think that, offensively, the WAS game was some of the best playcalling I've seen since JG has been coach.

I don't understand why it took Romo getting hurt to run some PA bootleg stuff, that's right in Tony's wheelhouse and a nuance that should have been in this offense for years.
