Should I be ashamed of this?

Sure, but you should go prepared. Here are a few items to put on your shopping list -
  • Glue
  • Yardstick
  • Marking pen
  • Construction paper
Next, do the following -
  1. Select a sheet of construction paper (I recommend choosing burgurdy type colored sheet)
  2. Apply glue to one margin of the sheet
  3. Affix that margin to the top of the yardstick
  4. With the marking pen, draw a big arrow on the left-hand side of the sheet with the pointed end facing the yardstick
  5. Write the following words on the sheet: "You have to be THIS tall to own an NFL team!"
Be sure to parade that around with you. Have fun!

That's actually really funny!

I may end up visiting Commanders training camp next weekend.

(GASP!)

My wife and I work for the same employer. She works full time, while I do a little work for them on the side in addition to my public relations business. She told me last night that our employer is a sponsor of training camp this year (I don't keep up with that stuff, really) and that the A/V department is going to Skins training camp next weekend to shoot some video. She asked if I wanted to go because they needed someone to help identify players and maybe conduct some interviews.

I'll probably go. Even if it IS the hated Commanders, it's professional football and it's pretty cool to go to camp for a day. As sponsors we'll probably get free food and such. If they give me shirts and hats or something, I'll just give them to friends who are Skins fans, or I'll sell them on eBay, or I'll burn them ... whatever mood strikes me.

Obviously I can't wear my Cowboys attire. It's a shame I don't have some very subtle pin or something. Any other ideas?

Dude I have gone every year since 2001. Some Skins fans on Hogs.net tried to punk me back then. So i rolled to camp one day with my boyz from South East DC barber shop (6 skins fans, 1 Phins fan, 2 cowboy fans). We all wear our team jerseys and have a good time. Needless to say those skins fans from Hogs.net came over shook my hand and went about there business.

PS You are not allowed to touch any Commanders related gear unless it is a seat cushion to sit on. Dont make me come after you.....lol

Is that consecutive playoff losses? Cause, you're at 6 :)

First of all when was the last time you won a superbowl

Second when was the last time you won a superbowl with out Coach Gibbs

:laugh2:

I love going to any training camps. Grew up right near Oxnard, CA so I used to catch the Cowboys and Raiders as a kid and it was a great experience.

No it's Lombardis. That's what us Cowboys count seasons by.

I can understand the confusion though. I understand that as a Commanders fan, you probably count seasons by playoff losses and appearances.

Cowboys fan: We didn't win another Lombardi, so who cares about making the playoffs.

Commanders fan: OMG! We snuck into the last playoff spot and then go our ***** handed to us in the first round! What a successful and memorable season!

But seeing as how you are so focused on mere playoff appearances, here is some helpful information for you:

In the Super Bowl era, the Cowboys have played in 56 playoff games (the most of any NFL franchise by a margin 9)

In the Super Bowl era, the Commanders have played in 33 playoff games (or 42% fewer than the Cowboys).

Figured you would find that information useful as someone who counts seasons by playoff appearances.

How does it feel knowing you cheer for an inferior franchise by any objective measure?

Ah Cobra, the leader of the "We were great 15 years ago" Crowd. Good work. You really shut me up.

:sarcasm:

P.S. Before you go on one of your diatribes about how great the Cowboys are, yes, they are the prohibitive favorite in the NFC. But then again, they were that last year too...before losing their NFL Record 6th consecutive playoff game.

P.P.S. Before you go on another of your "WE ARE THE GREATEST TEAM EVER WHOO-WHEEE" tirades. I have openly questioned my team, and looked as objectively as I can at my team -- can you?

Great or not is not the issue.

My point is really simple.

By any objective measure, the Commanders are inferior to the Cowboys.

That doesn't require labeling the Cowboys as the greatest or even great. All it is is a simple comparison. The second to worst franchise is superior to the worst franchise. So its not where the Cowboys fit in NFL history, its a simple comparison of the franchises.

By every objective measure, the franchise you root for is inferior to the Cowboys.

Are you going to deny that?

Yeah he did for the simple reason is you guys had a 23 year head start on us. (1937 vs 1960). You guys had a bigger fan base and were more established.

So Hypothetical if the aliens were to arrive today, they would see that we
1. Won a superbowl way before you team.
2. We have won more superbowls then your team
3. We have won more division titles then your team
4. We have won more playoff games then your team
5. We have the overall lead in head to head competition with your team.
6. We punked your racist owner with his own song to get in the league in 1960.

I SAY THAT MAKES OUR FRANCHISE BETTER THEN YOURS.

You're absolutely right. The Cowboys did a lot between 1971 and 1995.

Hypothetically speaking, if championships are you're measuring stick, as they should be; would a team that had 12 championships be superior to one that had 5?

if the championships were all the same sure, but they aren't and that argument is flawed on so many levels its even more stupid than being a Commanders fan
