Clearly the military is not for everyone. I have several family members who are career military and they love the life. They have a deep seeded commitment to this country and serve it with pride and I have the utmost respect for them. Again though military is not for everyone.

I'm surprised it wasn't closed earlier.

No controversy!

No opinions to the contrary!

...lol but in all seriousness it's been attempted before on CZ and it doesn't work.

It only leads to going off of the subject at hand, into personal attacks.

Stay on target! Stay on target!

If you do decide to join and don't a bias to which service.
I'm told the Navy, and maybe Air Force, have the most awesome locations.
Your odds of not spending years in 110 degree heat with you life on the immediate line are way better too.
Then again, some dig the action.

The biggest mistake I ever made was turning down a scholarship to the Naval Academy.

If I could live my life all over again, I would enlist and go to college afterwards on the GI bill if I did not make the Military a career and get a full pension and then i still might go back and get my degree on the GI Bill.

You get better financing rates on homes too.

No you don't.

I agree. You get pretty much the same rates but I didn't have to pay any money down or points.

You don't pay points on FHA or conventional either unless the lender is screwing you or you are buying the rate down. It is zero down, but so are some other programs.
