Should Romo get a new deal only if Dallas makes the playoffs?

Jerry is a shrewd businessman.....he will sign Romo ASAP during the season when HE feels he has shown he can be consistently good. That could be by midseason or 12 games in, but if Romo plays well there is no need to wait til after the season----he can save himself a chunk of change by doing so.

Besides, what is the alternative? Start all over with a retread QB or even a rookie....NO WAY, especially with the new stadium close to opening. Jerry has shown his hand by not drafting Brady Quinn.

Something tells me that after a full training camp as the #1 QB, Romo feels more knowledgable and comfortable with the position and don't expect him to have a string of bad outings like the tail end of last year. Might as well get used to it, Romo is here to stay.

Well the defense couldn't have been that good because they haven't been in the playoffs

Their defense actually is pretty good, Jason Taylor won Defesive Player of the Year.

The problem is their Junior High offense.

We should win the game by 2 TDs easily, we simply have better talent.

Romo will get his HUGE contract I believe some where in the middle of the season, I think we will hear more serious talks around BYE time. IMO there are quite a few factors the will secure it for him:

1 I don't believe he will tank this season and yes he is the real deal.

2 If the defense shine through out the entire season, there is no reason the Boys don't successfully go to the playoff.

3 With Dallas moving in the new stadium next year, Romo will be a ticket seller, meadia attraction, attention bringer for this team. Jerry Jones knows this and will take full advantage of Romo's star power.

4 Like stated before, there is no other which gives the Boys the best chance of winning and you know Jones do not want to start all over with a rookie QB or a FA learning the system.

So, I safe it is safe to safe that we have our long term QB playing now and I don't see much that will change that barring a serious injury or complete explosion in a downward spiral by Romo.

IMO

When we decided to pass on Brady Quinn, the decision was made right then that Romo would be the long-term future.

Seriously, what are our other options?

1. Only other QB on roster is freaking Brad Johnson and his weak arm
2. Sign a vet cast-off from another team in free agency, good luck.
3. Use Brown's #1 on a rookie, $35 mil guarented to a rookie QB...pass
4. Trade draft picks for another team's backup....no Schuabs left however

So, as you can see, we really have no options at this point but to pay Romo what he wants. For those that say they have not seen enough to make a decision, I ask you which of the alternatives above are you going to go with:confused:

While I don't think they will resign him if he wins tomorrow, or even next week, if they wait until the playoffs, that might be a little too late. I imagine there will be other teams ready to offer more than what they would probably be able to sign him sooner.

If you are asking me, I am in total agreement. You are singing to the choir. I think it is a mute point.

Who was the first QB taken in this years draft? Should they cut him if he don't make the playoffs?

Football is a TEAM sport, not a one man show like people think Romo or T.O. are!

Romo will get his money when he gets it. If he does not make the playoffs we don't pay him? Right....

Well that would depend on how bad he performed. I never heard of a organization rewarding someone for individual accomplishments even though the organization didn't achieve it's goals

Well why are those defenses being praised then? That's like me pointing out how Good a Female looks but she is always single-lol

1. A defense doesn't have to praised to be very good.
2. Usually, a good defense alone can't get a team into the playoffs if the offense isn't good enough to do it's share.

Jmaricus Russell for the Raiders (i think that his name) make tons more money than Romo and he has not even played a game yet!

If he don't lead the Raiders to the playoffs, should they just cut him?

In other words, you question does not make any sense because Romo is not a one man show! There are other players that need to step up in order for the Cowboys to make the playoffs..

Got it?

No I think it would be because of some hidden flaws kind of like the hidden defensive flaws when someone looks at how high that particular defense is ranked

Who was it? Oh, Jacksonville?

Who won a SB with a great defense?

EDIT: The Ravens...the memory is short...
