Should Romo get a new deal only if Dallas makes the playoffs?

How many options will Romo have if he doesn't have that good of a year and the Cowboys miss the Playoffs?

From reading your replies you define a good year the same way everyone else defines a fantastic year.

Probably Payton in NO would grab him up in a second!

If youre evaluating a QB and you are looking at team winning % first then you are clueless and should go find a nice busfire. Quit allowing him to act like team winning % is a primary indicator of good QB play. Its stupid in and of itself and doesnt need to be given any credence whatsoever.

So the QB position is not the most important on the Team?? Isn't that the position that makes the Offense GO???

Romo is going to take this team to the NFC Championship game no doubt in my mind.

he is going to carry this team on his back not seen since Staubach.

Before his career is over he will have won at least 2 super bowls, and will go down as a top 20 QB in NFL History.

thats not what i said but unless QB play is over 50% of the temas input then it will not correlate well. Youre being dumb and i wish you would stop.

Well I do know it took Mcnabb to led the Eagles to the NFC championship before he was rewarded with a new deal. And that's what I think you don't understand. He has to play above and beyond expectations to be rewarded with a new deal. You just don't get a new deal because your current deal is RUNNING OUT

he has to play well in order get a new contract. again just because mcnabb got the extension at the same time they went to the SB doesnt prove that going to the playoffs caused mcnabb to get the extension. the eagles FO is not stupid enough to simply look at winning % in determining how well mcnabb played.

i see you mcnabb and raise you schaub and bulger who both got extensions without taking their teams to the playoffs.

again you are clueless and a wish you would jus tstop. no matter how much you want to try and babble about winning % being the primary indicator of good QB play it will not make it true and it will not make it so that anyone else believes it.

Have you ever heard of the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, 2002 Tampa Bay Bucaneers, or 2006 Chicago Bears?

Yes.

Funny how you base argument on either Super Bowl winning teams (Ravens & Buccaneers) or Super Bowl participants (Bears). Way to step out on a limb there. With the (now) inclusion of Chicago in your rebuttal, you should've changed your initial statement to, "I never take a defense seriously that is not playing football in january or february."

Have you ever hear of the 2000 Buffalo Bills (#3 in Total Defense), 2002 Carolina Panthers (#2 in Total Defense) and 2006 Miami Dolphins (#4 in Total Defense)? Or do you wish to state those were not postseason worthy defenses?

actually you could include oaktowns D from last year while your at it. this guy keeps trying to use poor misleading arguments to back his stance but hes being exposed as a numbaskull.

I considered Oakland's #3 Total Defense ranking, but their offense was just so damn bad last season, I just couldn't do it.

true but it sometimes takes extremes to prove the absurdity of a position.
