Should The Cowboys Cut Jenkins?

Now clearly Mike Jenkins has been nothing short of awful this year. Missed assignments, poor coverage, poor tackling, poor effort, penalties you name it he's just had a bad season. While he wasn't as bad this year in his rookie year he still didn't play that well. Their was a play during the Green Bay game in which Jenkins essentially quit and let a Packers reciever score. Some called for him to be released then. It's not a matter of talent I think he is talented it's just about putting that work in and becoming a better football player. He had a great year last year and made the probowl. He wasn't great as far as locking his reciever down but he wasn't terrible either, he made big plays for us as far as interceptions last year Jenkins had 5 on the season. This year he only has 1 interception. He's a big reason the Cowboys secondary has been just awful argurably the worst in the league. The question becomes do you cut Jenkins or hope he has a bounceback year in 2011-2012 if there is football next year?

No, I think corners tend to look much worse than they are when they lack good safety help. I think there's a pretty good chance he can regain last year's form with someone better than Alan Ball helping over the top.

sure cut a pro bowl corner so we have another 2 holes to fill. Since newman, jenkins, ball, sensy, and the whole oline suck we better have a hell of a draft or 7 first round picks... Jenkins and Newman are fine they need safety help and if that is addressed they will be fine.

It sorta of sounds like you want to cut him, but just don't want to the one to say it.

This is the thing about fans. For some reason they believe real life is like Madden. They can just cut the players they don't want and replace them with Pro Bowlers. Good luck with that.

I couldn't care less if they cut him or keep him. He's a talented player but to me he has the mentality of a loser but then again so does alot of players on this team.

Did Jenkins have an awful season? YES probably his worst...

should we get rid of him? NO

2 bad years I say hes...if he continues on this path it doesn't matter what anybody says in here...love him or hate him....

Film doesn't lie..missed assignments and just plain stupidity from Jenkins at times got him burned many times this season....

If he has 2 bad years they will get rid of him...CB is one position that will cost you many games.
