Should the Cowboys trade 2nd/3rd rounder for Dion Jordan?

Offer a truely conditional pick.

If he plays over 50 perecent of the snaps in 2014 then it a 2015 2nd.

If he is cut during 2014 they get nothing.

Make it a sliding scale if his performance is somewhere between those 2 endpoints.

I would be all over trading a 2 or 3 for Jordan, he clearly isn't a fit over there and only has one year under his belt. He looked like a dominant prospect and better than anything you'd get in the 2nd or 3rd anyway. It would be even better if it was truly a conditional pick like stated above.

With our DE situation, I think it's well worth it.

See if they'll throw in their first and Tannehill while they're at it

If Miami really wants to get rid of him they will give up a 3rd which I would take.

That means we could get DE/DT in the first.
DT/DE in the 2nd.
DE Jordan in the 3rd.

Jordan is too main stream. Hipster Cowboys only go after players you've never heard of.

Jordan, 2013 draft was intriguing...now? not so much....I like the idea of giving up a pick in next year's draft for him, but if a pick form this year, then it would be after the 3rd round...

A trade for Dion Jordan would scare me. He's played one NFL season and already Miami doesn't seem to think he can play. Why else would they trade a pass rusher- teams can never have enough? I would hate for Dallas to give up a high pick and make the same mistake the Dolphins are trying to cover up.

So let me get this right........you diss anything the Cowboys do and this is your plan? Lol.
If the boys did this trade and it failed would you still bash them???

I don't diss everything they do. I for once would like to see them do something smart. And today they did. By not signing Hatcher to a 4 yr deal for 27.5 mil. But If they were to make this deal....I could live w/ it. They gotta do something. That is why I said make the 2015 conditional. If he busts...then your not out of a high draft pick.

Draft goes like this.....

1st. Dee Ford (replace Spencer)
2nd. To Dolphins for Jordan
3rd. Dominique Easley, DT Florida or Kelcy Quarles, DT South Carolina or Ego Ferguson DT LSU

I think this could be one step in the right direction.

Comments?

Brilliant and insightful. Why haven't we thought of this before?

Play Dee Ford on the strongside! Nobody will see that coming! The one spot where his strengths will be negated. Most say he belongs at OLB, but not you! No, you want him setting the edge against the RT.

Then, bring in Jordan (who managed to turn off his current team so bad that they're willing to trade their first round pick from a bad draft in less than a year) to play on the weakside because if anyone might be worst than Dee Ford against the run, it would be Jordan. As an added bonus, it is a second round pick in the deepest draft in 30 years.

Then, with a little luck, we can nail down the trifecta! That's right... a starting 3-tech that can't play yet because he's coming off his second ACL injury in college.

Floatyworm... if only we could get you in the front office... we would be good to go, bro.

Since this draft is deep in defensive tackles then perhaps the best way to fix this Demarcus Ware debacle is to trade for a similar player.

Comments?

What debacle ?
Ware was hurt over and over again the last three seasons. Even if he has 1 or 2 more good years left, this was the logical and right decission.
First time in years Dallas got rid of a player just at the right time
Ware's got a very good deal in Denver and can compete for a championship.

This is a win-win situation.

Would you be opposed to a trade w/ the Dolphins for Dion Jordan?

My thinking is this.

Trade your 2nd in 2014........and a conditional pick in 2015 (as high as a 3rd) like when the Cowboys traded for Charles Haley

Trading a second-round pick for a player who has done nothing and is already not wanted by the team that drafted him early in the first round last year is just not smart business ... so Jerry might do it.

I understand that sometimes you have to take a risk to get a big reward, but this seems more like stepping into a trap when it's got TRAP written on it in big, bold letters.

I still think we lost. So far I'd like to have Ware much more than the bodies we've picked up in free agency. Ten more of them isn't worth one Ware if Ware is healthy ... and probably even if he isn't.

New GMs like to make their owns picks and as many as possible.

The problem is that a new GM probably wants the pick in this year's draft in order to make an immediate splash.
