You can not include stuff in his contract that violates the NFLPA contract. You cant say to Micah, we need you to be at all off season workouts, even the "Voluntary," workouts. If you do that, they arent voluntary and they violate the general players contract. We're talking about a generational talent, yet it appears there's concerns with Micah and his dedication to the team. This quote from Jerry stands out a lot “Micah has to be the player that he wants to be paid as" goes a long way. We all know that Micah likes to do Micah and live his life. He does things in the off season, travels, podcasts, and it seems like he just wants to be involved in everything he can during the off season!
With that said, are there going to be stipulations about these things in his contract? How can the Cowboys go to someone like him and say hey, if you don't slow down with this, we won't do this for you?? Is that legal in terms of the CBA?
On April 7th we have voluntary workouts, will he show up if there's no deal by that date? I think we can all agree that there's NOTHING that will suggest that a deal doesn't get done. Micah will be a Cowboy and will be the highest paid.
Are you fine with stipulations being placed on him? Please give your thoughts

and right on cue by the third post... wha wha wha wha wha............ feel better now?Maybe Micah should stipulate that jerry step down as gm and hire someone to run the Cowboys like a legitimate franchise and not some rich man's hobby toy.
There should be one.No
No contract, no stipulations
AgreedI think we regret a lot of the long term deals we make with these players all because they seemingly do well to get the bag, and when they get the bag, you don't see the same level of desire/production
Different situation, NFL was still fining for drug tests and the Gregory deal feel into a grey area as states were relaxing Marijuana laws but the NFL still had marijuana on the naughty list. Gregory up to that point pretty much missed parts of almost every season due to drug test violations.I think they tried to get Randy Gregory that way years ago and we see how that turned out
I agree.Heneveralways disappoints
Slow down coach. Walt Garrison was a real Cowboy. These was always talk the team should limit his rodeo activities during the off season.Damn! You really don't even know what to talk about, anymore. As long as Micah doesn't start doing something stupid like becoming a....me, me, me, look at me, clown...constantly asking for thoughts on stupid topics. If he does, throw him in the Corral with ** Manchu for 8 seconds!!
I agree about him getting beat up playing the way he currently is being used. Probably not the most popular reply, but I wish they would've never put him on the edge. I think he's best at the LB position and it would have been a lot easier to build around him from there.I think we should trade him.
He is too undersized for how we use him.
That causes him to wear down at the end of games and the end of the season.
We are going to regret his large incoming contract.
Where and why. We're talking about a generational talent, yet it appears there's concerns with Micah and his dedication to the team. My understanding is that he is not a great LB .I agree about him getting beat up playing the way he currently is being used. Probably not the most popular reply, but I wish they would've never put him on the edge. I think he's best at the LB position and it would have been a lot easier to build around him from there.
The guy has been a top 4 defensive player since the day he entered the league.... and we want to complain like the all knowing experts we are, that of course the team doesnt know what to do with him and are misusing him.... smhI agree about him getting beat up playing the way he currently is being used. Probably not the most popular reply, but I wish they would've never put him on the edge. I think he's best at the LB position and it would have been a lot easier to build around him from there.
Why would the team give 2 ***** about vacations and podcasts during the offseason? We're talking about a generational talent, yet it appears there's concerns with Micah and his dedication to the team. Why on earth would you want to get into highly unusual contract conditions? That is insulting to the player. Across the league, players take note of garbage like that. We're talking about a generational talent, yet it appears there's concerns with Micah and his dedication to the team.
