Also, keep in mind that Denver scored only two touchdowns -- one on an interception return and one after getting the ball at San Diego's 29-yard line. So the Broncos' offense had 12 possessions and scored only one TD, which came because of great field position. Our offense had the ball for only eight possessions and scored four touchdowns, including two 80-yard drives.

Two games into the season, it's pointless to start comparing what teams' opponents did to their other opponents.

For example, New Orleans beat Carolina, which beat New England. Does that mean New Orleans is better than New England? Of course not.

Leaving aside that the New Orleans game was probably affected by unusual motivational factors, I think you make a good (and somewhat comforting) point.

Still, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that a significant part of my prior confidence that we should beat the 'Skins was founded on the difference in the quality of our wins last week. I suspect others were in the same boat. My only point is that we may now have to rethink our reasons for believing that Dallas is ostensibly the better team.

Why talk about what Denver did against San Diego? I thought it was pointless this early in the season.

New England looked pretty beatable today and Brady pretty human. Frankly, the Panthers didn't look really great either. I am continually amazed at how NE wins and wins with some of the players they have....Branch is a decent WR but after him.... who? Harrison is a good DB but the rest of the secondary....? NE's OL got rattled, beat up, and worn down today by a Carolina DL without Jenkins.
Seattle, who lost last week, beats Atlanta, who had beaten down Philthy the week prior.
Crazy. Any team can beat any other team on any given Sunday these days. Seems like the teams that make the fewest mistakes, i.e. penalties and turnovers, are the only ones that win consistently.
This is certainly always going to be our key to victory week in and week out.

Denver is very good at all, partly might be because they better then they played last week but also because of the mile high

Denver is very good at home, partly cause they might be better then they played in week one but also because of advantage they derive in playing at a stadium where the altitude affects players not used to it. This has helped them numerous times in the past and will continue to do so.

I extolled the reasons they were a big lie last season. Its in fruition so far.....

Problem with this theory is that it leaves unexplained how SD failed to go to school on the beating Miami layed on Denver.
OH, was that Broncos-Phins game played in Miami?

If so, it may explain the Denver poor performance.

I have seen so many very good teams literally wilt down there in that late summer Miami heat and humidity. Florida teams, especially the Phins, have a huge advantage training in that hothouse environment.

I don't think our win over the Chargers was tainted by the Broncos victory today. Or by Denver's loss last week. That AFC West will beat each other up again this year.

I didn't see today's game, but from the highloghts it looked like Brees made a few critical mistakes, not that SD fell flat on its face.

I agree on New England. I don't see them as being that overly talented quite frankly. I think if our 3-time SB Champion in 4 years Cowboys' team played the squad from NE, we would mop the floor with them.

Who cares? If we beat Washington I'll be happy and the boys will be 2-0. Isn't that enough?

Hey, you've got a good point, I kind of wanted the teams we beat to win, so Dallas gets respect. But, you've got to realize that Dallas vs Washington is never a ho-hum game. The Cowboys NEVER let the preparation week for the Commanders get sloppy. I don't worry for a minute that Dallas won't give it's best against Washington. And for that reason, I'm not worried about it. In fact, I'm ready for kickoff!!!

You should be happy that the Vikes and Packers are 0-2, since we'll be battling those teams for a playoff spot.

Look at it this way: Skins fans are, I'm sure, reading into the same things from the Chargers and Bears games today.

It'll just make it that much more crushing to them tomorrow when we lay a good whipping on them on national TV. ;)
