Should we do a Herschel Walker with Dez?

I'm if the view that the team needs to start completely rebuilding ala the early Jimmy Johnson years. Dez is at his peek. Production will start dropping in a couple of years and Dez has his injury problems. We're also likely to have to take a cap hit on his salary in 3-4 years time - when we will be contending again. I love Dez as a player. I also loved Herschel. But the team comes first.

Should he be traded for multiple high draft choices to restock the team with young talent? There are always GMs out there who think they are 1 player away from a SB and who likely would offer

The only GM that would be willing to make that deal is in Dallas. Unfortuntely...you can't trade with yourself.....What would Dez be worth...really?Honestly...as a GM I wouldn't want that contract. Nor the high maintence that comes w/ the player. I don't see anyone giving up more than a 4th rounder.....if even that.

Well we've seen how effective Dez is without an elite QB throwing to him as well. Some of that is outdated offensive scheme (Linehan / Garrett) and some of that is the QB (Weeden / Cassel). As a GM if you were confident in him being more involved in your scheme and your QB to be able to get him the ball AND you think he's just that one missing piece from a playoff / possible SB run, you might give up more.

If you get me the deal that this team got for Walker, I will trade any player on this roster. ANY PLAYER. That type of trade will never happen again.

Im not sure what produces more silly threads, the off season or a pathetic losing season like this one.

I haven't had a chance to watch the 22's this year, but I don't think you get a more than one high round pick for Dez. I would like to hear how much effort Dez is putting out when the ball is not coming to him, any reports?

Lost in the concern for the OP's sleep pattern is the general premise of this thread. Would you be willing to move on from Dez Bryant? It'd be tough to do with his contract but I'd seriously consider it.

If he goes on the market, teams are basically going to offer what they did for Brandon Marshall. A couple of seconds at best.

as mentioned you are never going to see that type of trade again. also, I wouldn't sell low on Dez. He's been a trainwreck this season, lets see if he can rehabilitate himself in 2016. I'm certainly not opposed to trading him then.

So Sam Bradford goes for a 2nd rounder but Dez is worth a 4th?
