Herschel Walker trade for Dez?:lmao2:You would be lucky to get a 2nd round player for him at the moment. The man is a let down.

All I can do is laugh at the amount of ridiculous comments in this thread. Move one from Dez, only worth a 4th. We are talking about the same gut that had 56 touchdowns coming into this season. The same guy that single handedly won us the game against Philly to put us back in first place in the east. Show some respect. He's playing on a surgically repaired foot and a bum knee and has Matt Cassell throwing him the ball, the team lost their leader. Twice. So many people here ready to move on from dez. Its incredible. Does anyone remember how horrible his offense looked without him? What receivwr in this league or we draft can succeed the way Dez has in this scheme? Give me a break people.

Why would we need to do that? We've now got our great picks just waiting for us in 5 weeks. Could be #1 at the top of each round by the times it's all settled. Now that's a trade!

In lieu of trading a player we traded the season!

If you get me the deal that this team got for Walker, I will trade any player on this roster. ANY PLAYER. That type of trade will never happen again.

This is my view on it. I wouldnt say "never" ROH, because one never knows, unless you have a crystal ball. Someone mentioned rg3, which most likely been the most recent deal that was "Hershelesque."

Just for the sake of playing devils advocate, you could argue that St. Louis hasn't turned into a powerhouse for the picks resulted from the rg3 trade so it doesn't automatically improve the team (although they are better overall) as one would think. I'd still heavily consider it though if I was in the front office and the opportunity presented itself.

No GM is that stupid. And draft picks have more value than they used to due to the salary cap and free agency.

Yup!

I think the closest would have been...

Jerry and the Vikings (ironically enough)... Peterson running back (ironically enough)... 2 first rounders and next years 2nd or 3rd.

Actually, now... Wishing he did it. I think season would have played out better.

I'm if the view that the team needs to start completely rebuilding ala the early Jimmy Johnson years. Dez is at his peek. Production will start dropping in a couple of years and Dez has his injury problems. We're also likely to have to take a cap hit on his salary in 3-4 years time - when we will be contending again. I love Dez as a player. I also loved Herschel. But the team comes first.

Should he be traded for multiple high draft choices to restock the team with young talent? There are always GMs out there who think they are 1 player away from a SB and who likely would offer

before ANY trade talk should come up, a prereq should be having to understand the cap hit of such a "thought" and then justify that before anything else.

You will never see another Herschel trade in the NFL. Quit dreaming.

You can probably get a high draft pick for Dez but that's it. Not even close to all the picks we got in the early 90s.

Aren't we already one of the youngest teams in the NFL. What do you want, all 21 and 22 year old rookies?

Dez would likely flourish on a good team that is well coached and can handle his immaturity. You gotta figure at some point he grows up, especially on a team that doesn't treat the players like 3rd graders on a field trip.

That wasn't a Hershel Walker type trade

3 firsts and a second in this day and age is a HAUL. Walker's trade was 3 firsts, and like 3 seconds. There were some additional low round picks but we gave some of ours back in exchange too.

I haven't had a chance to watch the 22's this year, but I don't think you get a more than one high round pick for Dez. I would like to hear how much effort Dez is putting out when the ball is not coming to him, any reports?

Agree - I think a lot of people around here would be shocked at what teams would be willing to give us for Dez.

You'd do a Herschel with any one.

That's never happening again and the realities if today's cap it'd be incredibly damaging.

Put this idea to bed.

I think we could get 2 x 1sts or a 1st and 2 x 2nds for Dez. With the saved cap space, this is worth considering.

Just out of curiosity what do you think the gnats Beckham would bring in draft picks? You know. Younger and on a rookie contract for a couple more years.
