No, we have our future and present QB in Romo and a good solid vet back up in Johnson......no need to waste money on Carr.

If they had dumped him last week before we signed Johnson, I would have wanted us to take a long look at him; of course he wants to start; but really, why not? Let him and Romo go at it in TC. Maybe Carr never would have been all that anyway, but the totally criminal way that the Texans never tried to build a real O line really gave Carr very little chance to really develope. Like I said, maybe he was always going to be a never was; but can anyone truly have done much better when you are getting sacked 60-70 times a season; and hit a lot more then that? And Carr was decently mobile, unlike Bledsoe. Not a whole lot of that pressure/sacks was his fault. At least in the first 2-3 years anyway.

Let Carr an Romo battle it out.

As bad as houston was Carr was just as bad. He couldnt figure out how to get the ball to Andre Johnson. I dont want him here, doing the same thing with TO. And then watching him roll into the fetal position when TO starts to bite his head off

No Thanx. Give me someone who aint afraid

Thoughts on David Carr.

He still thinks of himself as a starter. Ergo ipso facto emeritus plurus: He'll want a starter's salary.
That won't fly here or other teams already with capable QBs. He'll wind up in Oakland or as a project (again) in Green Bay or Washington.

My thought is that Danny Snyder will grab him before the weekend is over.

We've already signed Brad Johnson and the egos at Valley Ranch won't go for another veteran lest they seem likes fools for going after a high-priced (by Carr) veteran.

Carr has the skills to be great.
With a good QB coach and good line, he'll do well. Some day.

Well, some gems (no charge and free).

Let's go into the draft with the intention of stocking ourselves with a corner and a safety. The rest will take care of itself.

Nah, not going to happen. Brunell is the #2 and everyone knows it. And there's no way he's giving up on Campbell or doing anything that would undermine him, like bringing in somebody who wants to start. No way Carr would accept being #3...

Real easy to talk like that when you weren't the one behind what was for 3 years the consensus worst O line in the NFL.

Please, that lame excuse. I saw game in and game out. Carr siting back there, holding the ball for 3 and 5 seconds, doing nothng. He's nothing but a younger bledsoe, with a weaker arm, and who can run the ball

In week 6, I traded Bledsoe to the Raiders for a first rounder (true story, LOL!) and played out the season with Romo. I did ok, but when you have it on All-Madden (because I'm SILLY at Madden) and your QB can't hit the broad side of a barn or connect with anyone but opposing DBs deep, you're gonna struggle.

Romo just wasn't cutting it.

So you can imagine my elation when the Texans let Carr walk in year 2 of the simulation. I signed him up immediately, and with his ratings, I was able to do much better.

Just FWIW...

yea, it's the SOS - shiney object sydrome. if ANY player w/nny form of name is cut, it's instant debate on the forums regardles of if it makes sense or not for either the team or the player who people know how name so we must have him.

You just really cannot perform in Madden with Tony Romo at QB. He can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Andre Johnson led the league in catches last year.....

And lets say for a minute that he didn't. Would it have been David Carrs fault that teams gameplanned for his ONLY option at reciever?

I was at the games. Johnson was not always doubled covered. The only reason Johnson lead the league in catches, was cause half the time, the Texans were down, and they were forced to throw... alot. Andre should have had alot more catches than he did.

Yeah, thats clearly illustrated by the fact that the Texans were ranked 23rd in passing attempts. Good call.

How many of you guys actually got to see him play on a consistent bases?

I've seen most of his games when the Boys didn't play at the same time as the Texans. He looks the same as he did his rookie year.No improvement in his game at all.You would think after about three years in the league he would improve in at least one area but he hasn't.He always looks shell shocked.

I think he need's to accept a backup job just so he can get his confidence back.I don't think the Cowboys would be a good fit for him.

I'll take Johnson, Romo is the man. There's enough drama in Dallas without the stupid media perpetuating a huge QB controversy

By last year, If Carr actually had 5 seconds to throw the ball, he was probably in shock and froze.
