Shouldn't we be talking about the OL?

Much of our success should be credited to the play of our OL. They have quietly regained some of their greatness. Tyron Smith seems to be playing the best ball he's played in a few years. Steele is a miracle, and Zack Martin is playing like... Zack Martin. It appears Williams and Biadasz are more than adequate.

These guys are opening up holes for the best running game in the NFL over the last three weeks. They're also protecting Dak. The Panthers defensive line had 6, 4, and 4 sacks the first three games of the season. Against our OL? Zero.

Don't jinx them!

Imagine the dominance if Frederick didn't get a very rare disease(first time I'd ever heard of it). He was still firmly in the prime of his career. Either way it's definitely still one of the strongest units in the league, and we have decent depth to boot.

They look way better than I expected. I love how they are run blocking.

I don't remember the OL consistently creating such huge holes for the longest time. This has been quite a surprise. Obviously there's a new wrinkle with McGovern playing fb and some TE but are the Cowboys running new plays or is it something else (e.g. Smith fully healthy)?

Joe Philbin had productive lines under McCarthy in GB.

Yep.
Basically, the key to the whole thing.

Effects quarterbacking, defense and coaching too. The majority of posters here gloss over this or intentionally ignore it to promote their own personal agenda that is not TEAM success related.

The OL performance has a real trickle down effect, especially with this team. How it goes, the team goes. Always has been that way.

OL is where offense begins and ends. No holes, no run. No pass protection no passing. There is a reason Emmitt Smith would buy rolex watches for his OL, he knew these are the guys that allow me to have big days and great seasons. This OL has been opening holes and we see the production in the run game, they are keeping Dak standing and he is able to get the ball out to the WR and TE with great effectiveness. Last season you had both tackles down, Martin playing hurt then out of the lineup and we relied on backup with Williams being the only starter to play every game and it showed as offense struggled

The OL has been outstanding. Steele is in the running for most improved player on the team...great to finally have a decent swing OT.

If Philbin can fit McGovern into the starting OL, and somehow improve upon the league's top rated OL...Cowboys are in business.

Our center and guard are terrible

yes, OL has been playing well, but it all goes together. the recievers and Dak and Zeke and pollard have been playing well. getting rid of the ball, the OC has been calling good games. Zeke and Pollard are seeing holes, hitting them and taking advantage....its amazing when it all comes together and how good everyone looks....again, not diminishing the fact the OL is playing well too

Absolutely. Depth is there as well.

I've gotta give the FO credit here. They have done a great job at making the team better lately.

Jerry loves credit, so someone please get this to him. We know it was all him.

When there is pass protection for the QB...
When there's enough time for receivers to separate...
When there are holes at the first and second level for RBs...

I mean,

that covers passing, receiving and running.

IF the o line has not provided these opportunities for these skill positions to do their jobs then there would be a debate.

There is none.

I could go on with how oline performance can affect time of possession thus helping the defense rest/stay fresh.

Or how an effective oline maximizes playcalling /game planning and team strategies.

Everything is a result of the o line doing its job and doing it well.

If the argument is that individual positions must then 'do their jobs that based off of the opportunities provided by the oline' then that is on those individual positions performing their responsibilities. The oline has done it's job.

The oline is the foundation to Dallas Cowboy success. The nexus to team wins.

The current Dallas Cowboy oline is providing the current team success. Every other facet of the team has been direct benefactors of their performance so far. Hopefully this year's oline, unlike the last dominant one of 2016, can share in the glory of a SB victory come February. If they continue at their current performance level and good health I believe there is a chance of future celebration in early 2022.

Make no mistake. As the oline goes, so goes this team. Period.

Its no coincidence that the moment we get a real center back in there, everything starts dominating again. No doubt the return of Smith as well. But if you think about it, the ONLY difference from most of last year is Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz.
