He looks scared to make a mistake. Can't play like that.

I feel bad for him.
He never really had a chance playing with our 1st unit--which would make things so much easier for anyone.
But some of his through tonight were a bit unexplainable, regardless of who was out there.
The irony is that Dak did not look like anything more than a good project that was ahead of schedule in camp, but when the lights went on, he was a gamer.
Btw, that much describe Romo too. Not perfect in shorts, but come day, really good compared to most out there.
Showers, who looked as good or better in camp, came up limp in the games..though it was with scrubs.

Yeah...I was excited to see what he could do with the coaches giving him a full game plan, but it didn't work out. Bad line or not, he had some time to make the throws but couldn't consistently put the right touch on the ball. He likes to rifle it in when it didn't need it. And when he scrambled outside of the pocket, his eyes didn't look more than 10 yards down the field. Overall, he just didn't look comfortable at all...and this was his 2nd preseason against 2's and 3's. With him being a good ST/PS guy (playing whatever scout position needed), I'd normally say, hey....let's keep him at QB2 until Romo comes back.

Honestly, he doesn't seem like a project QB. I feel for the guy. He seemed genuinely humble just to make the practice squad last year and was hungry for anything he could get, but I don't think even being a QB2 is within his reach. I hope I'm wrong, someone picks him off waivers and he flashes with a different style of offense.

I wonder what other medicore qbs we'll bring in could do with our 2nd/3rd team line and receivers.

I wouldn't say Showers is hopeless but he's definitely not ready. Another year on the PS might help him.

This. He reminded me a lot of the last Aggie to play QB for Dallas. He's not ready.

Looks like Austin Davis may be getting his contract demands met after all.

Clearly they need a better backup option than Showers at this point. He doesn't read the field fast enough, and just seems to lack some intuitiveness. They need to bring someone in, and that someone isn't Jerrod Johnson, who is as raw as Showers is.

Interesting note - if Golden Richards and Jameill Showers had a kid, it could be named Golden Showers.
