Yeah...I was excited to see what he could do with the coaches giving him a full game plan, but it didn't work out. Bad line or not, he had some time to make the throws but couldn't consistently put the right touch on the ball. He likes to rifle it in when it didn't need it. And when he scrambled outside of the pocket, his eyes didn't look more than 10 yards down the field. Overall, he just didn't look comfortable at all...and this was his 2nd preseason against 2's and 3's. With him being a good ST/PS guy (playing whatever scout position needed), I'd normally say, hey....let's keep him at QB2 until Romo comes back.
Honestly, he doesn't seem like a project QB. I feel for the guy. He seemed genuinely humble just to make the practice squad last year and was hungry for anything he could get, but I don't think even being a QB2 is within his reach. I hope I'm wrong, someone picks him off waivers and he flashes with a different style of offense.
