Shudder the thought, but would this get Jerry to step down?

This scenario would be awful, but do you think it would be enough to get Jerry to step down? The scenario is 5 straight extremely ugly losing seasons, and I mean very ugly, 3 and 13 or worse each year. Fans get so bored and frustrated that they stop coming to games. Our fans' seats get sold to opposing fans, and each game looks more like a home game for the other team. Like I say, very, very ugly. Would that be enough to finally convince Jerry that maybe being GM just isn't worth it? Maybe he hires a GM and enjoys more time in the Cayman Islands.

The only thing that will lift the curse is his death.

Welcome the thought, just realize you'll have to fail in those Drafts to get him to get off the throne....but he's feeling the the heat, make no mistake thanks to Troy Aikman and others like Darren Woodson, Jerral is shuddering as we type.

"I think with winning organizations there are processes that are in place and there is a way to do things, a philosophy, a belief that you have and everything is built around that,'' Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman said. "If you take Seattle for instance, if you say 'hey, what is their philosophy,' you kind of know what that is. They're going to play great defense, they're going to run the football and they draft players who fit the mold of what they're looking for. I don't know that the Cowboys…

"The Cowboys tend to change their beliefs each year on what it is they need or what they're about. I find that to be somewhat unusual for a club that has been owned by the same owner for however long it's been.''

The problem is that guys like Parcells will no longer want to coach in Dallas. The system is dysfunctional in Dallas and most coaches who could go anywhere won't go to be ruled by Jerry.

Jerry will never give up enough of the decisions making to get a Parcells type coach. Jerry did it once and decided it wasn't fun.

Jerry is running the team like a corner mom and pop grocery store. One kid at the cash register, another handing out flyers in the neighborhood nad grandchildren stocking the shelves. And the wife painting the place. The problem is that you can't run an NFL franchise like a local 7-11.

And big name coaches know that.

We definitely aren't going to reel in any established NFL HCs but maybe a college HC could make that jump? The HC would still be on TV all the time, media exposure, etc. But yeah I agree with you for coaches with pedigrees similar to BP.

It's happened in Cincinnati and other cities. It could happen in Dallas after multiple extremely ugly seasons. Alas, what probably won't happen is for Jerry to give up his stubborn ways. We could probably have five straight 1 and 15 seasons and he would think the best thing for the team is for him to be GM.

It'll never happen in Dallas. 40 tornadoes could rip through DFW and Oklahoma and wherever else DAL fans are concentrated and people would blow off their appointments with the insurance adjusters to listen to a 'Boys game on a radio if the two things were scheduled for the same time.

Wow took 3 pages into a "Jerry will step down if..." Thread for someone to talk about Jerry's death. I'm impressed how long it took this time actually
