If anyone wonders for a second why they should jettison Garrett, just look at the "process" that he has built

* Jones can't shut his mouth for a second
* little Stevie comes out and says "we need a better front 7" ....DUH......he obviously is in "training" to be like dear ol' dad
* Ware comes out and says he will take a cut; then recants and says he will restructure
* Hatcher doesn't care where he plays,,,wait, what?
* Witten comes out and says Garrett is safe

the beat goes on and on and on...no one will shut their mouths in this organization...the players follow their idiot savant head coach who, along with the bigger idiot stevie, follows in Jerry Jones' footsteps

Why on God's green earth can they just not shut the (fill in your favorite curse here) up???!!!

sorry...mods, delete if you feel necessary, I had to say something

Fantastic breakdown and spot on. The all glitz and no substance Cowboys will continue on as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. With a $300 million dollar profit margin, 8-8 and/or status quo out ranks fielding a championship caliber team and coaching staff. And if ya asdk me the won-loss record is about to start getting worse beginning next year. Just my opinion, of course.

That'll be 299.99 and see the receptionist up front for a follow up in two weeks lol.

All we need are the flyers for the circus that's in town now.

and if they didn't say anything, you would complain they don't tell us anything...

seriously? Garrett lost this team eons ago...that even the stars talk too much is a sure-fire sign of that....I welcome the time when a coach says to his team to SHUT UP ALREADY!

Hell, did Jimmy fine them if they talked too much?

I think Jerry was different when Jimmy first arrived because they were trying to win. Once they won those SB's Jerry started doing what he has been doing. So Jimmy left. And no one else has been able to tell Jerry to shut-up. The idea that Jerry will respect "another Jimmy" is farfetched IMO.

Couldn't resist...said that because Parcells would not let coaches or players talk to the media. They had a set time, and a time limit for that.
When Parcells did that, then everyone complained we didn't hear from the players or coaches. Parcells controlled everything. Which was kind of nice at times.
Jimmy didn't fine them that I know of, he probably just cut them...

I actually kind of agree with you in a way on the talking bit, but disagree that Garrett lost the team.

I would like to point out that any coach of the Dallas Cowboys these days has "lost the team" the second he signs his contract. Jerry is the GM/Head Coach that picks the players and coordinators, the "HC" is in a power struggle the moment he walks in the door.

Jimmy is the last coach you should bring up when you discuss discipline for "Star" players. Ha ha, sure he would cut some scrub that fumbled but he didn't go after Michael, or any other high profile player for anything and he would be the first to tell you, I have different rules for the stars of the team.

But Garrett has not lost this team. You can point to a million different things that Garrett is bad at an I couldn't argue with them but he has not lost the team.

I stand corrected, you make the obvious valid point

and yes, it was Parcells as jazzcat states, not so much Jimmy

When the ONLY GM that has a radio show is your owner what do you expect?

But they do quit on him...i.e. Chicago game

I disagree. They got their butts handed to them and they were cold and they didn't play well. But at no point do I believe that anyone on that team said, "Screw this coach, I'm done with him". If you have ever played a sport, you know that some days are just bad days, you don't have it can't concentrate and you feel like, man let this game just end so I can be done.. that's not quitting on your coach, IMO. I think that is what happened in both NO and CHI but I don't believe for one minute they lost faith in Garrett as a coach.

As I stated in another thread, the rest of the NFC east is smiling. We have a disfunctional GM who endorses mediorocity, thinks his head coach will learn by his mistakes, which he doesn't .

But hey sales are up! Go Jerry

It's the country club mentality. Jimmy Johnson nailed it.
