And somehow, the Cowboys have managed to win three Super Bowls since the Skins last won one.

:laugh2:
And those teams have how much in common with today again?

what? my point was even with our playoff win drought we've still won 2 more championships than you. 3 since the last time your team has won one.

We won the championships (two times) before they were called super bowls in case you were wondering. So we've won the championships 5 times as have you. Secondly, if you are going to bring up recent history (as you are trying), you can't be so selective. If you are going to go that route, there at least has to be a player in common with those teams...

They have more "in common with today" than the Skins' last Super Bowl team.

You don't have to use GPS. Lasers absolutely would not work before I jump into this.

Put two small emitters into each end. Around the stadium, place 9 receivers (preferably equidistant from each other in a place not likely to get harmed like te support structure). Have the emitter emit a high frequency radio wave (higher frequencies are easier to triangulate accurately). Connect all the receivers to a central computer and plot out the azimuth and elevation of each emitter in relationship to the each receiver. Simple triangulation could give you a very exact positioning of the ball at any given time and making a simple 3D model based off the ends would be just a matter of computer modelling.
No high tech system would take away the question of knee hitting the ground before the ball crosses the goal line or the 1st down marker.

The problem with this is that those were in 1937 and 1942. It was a 1 game and done Championship rather than a tournament of any size. It was also 23 and 18 years before there was even a Cowboys team to compete against. Every one of our Championships were with your team in the equation somehow because both teams were in the NFL.

I really don't know, but if the one poster is correct you could probably overlay the ball movement data on the replay screen so that the ref sees that as he is watching for the knee down. it would be nice to have a little more clarity in ball placement

But hey, have fun living in the past.

Ok. Try this:

Which number is greater?

A. 57
B. 39

Because that is the head-to-head number of wins for each team. (I'll let you guess which is which).

As far as 'living in the past,' I cannot imagine how one would be better able to determine which team is superior than to look at head-to-head matchups in the past. And the proof is clear: your team is painfully inferior to ours.

What else are we suppose to do? Compare the records in the future? That doesn't make sense.

Admit it. Admit that Commanders are inferior. Based on the numbers, it cannot be denied. So man up. Own it. I dare you.

There's no shame in saying, "yes, my team is inferior but I root for them anyways because they are my team." So say it.

If I'm talking to a Bulls a fan, I will own up "yes, my team the Mavericks is an inferior franchise, but I root for them anyways because they are my team."

So come on, do it. By every metric your team is inferior. So own up to it. Be a man.

He's not garbage, but he's not great.

I agree on the rules for uniform restrictions.

Actually, it'd be very doable to put a sensor in the knee pad that took a snapshot of where the ball was on the field at the time the knee hit the ground.

How many players knees hit the ground on a given play? What happens if an elbow or butt hits? Sensors there too?

I just think it's too unlikely.

I doubt it's going to happen anytime soon, but if they did have a trial, I would suggest that only RB's, QB's and WR's have it at first. Also, maybe put sensors in knee, elbow and shoulder pads.
and again, you could overlay it on what the referee sees in the challenge booth, just to give more clarity. Really getting fancy, you could allow him to sort out which players electronics he wants to see, so if the RB has the ball he only sees those markers. if it is a question of when the ball comes loose, look at the ball and elbow pads. Again overlayed on the real picture or not, sorta like what google maps does with satellite vs road map data.

Bottomline though, you will still need human eyes looking at the action and determining the outcomes. It's just a question of what tools can be added to make the results clearer more quickly.

wow Skins fans coming out of the woodwork to try and start something on a Cowboys fan site.

Not the wisest. Although I'm sure there are a handful of knuckle-draggers from here that go to their boards trying to slam them.

oh and for the record, I think they should just institute those really high exposure, HD cameras into the replay system and it will solve a lot. Super-slow-motion in HD you can see a LOT that you can't normally see.

Not sure how having a discussion on tech stuff is "trying to start things". (not that I haven't in other threads ;) )

Seriously, I am a football fan, and right now, I would go to the Beaver Creek Athletic club if I could get some real football news. Till then I will troll around here, and at my Skins site, and hope that the days pass quickly, and TC/PreSeason get here quickly.

(PS i have no clue if there is a BCAC, but if so I am sure it has great football news. I am not trying to start a feud between the BCAC and myself honest :) )

If we're calling out idiots -- who randomly threw out the number of championships Dallas has won? Really...what does that have to do with this thread?

Cooley the 3rd TE on the Cowboys? Really?

The *******ery goes both ways...

And Cooley is the New Riggins -- I completely agree with the cell phone camera comment. I really don't care what these guys do off the field. So long as they aren't committing major felonies, leave them alone, really. Like I give a rat's arse that Romo and Simpson broke up?

It has to do with any thread where some Commanders fan decides to come in here and knock the Cowboys.

I have no beef with a Commanders fan coming in here to talk Football. X's and O's, draft prospects, league rules, player movement, contracts, things like that.

But I'll be damned if some Commanders punk is going to come in here and starting knocking my team. Because as a matter of man law, if you are inferior, you have no right to talk **** to your superior. Crap flows downhill, not up. And by any metric, the Commanders are an inferior franchise to the Cowboys. So Commanders fans have no leg to stand on to talk trash. None, whatsoever. The Commanders are our *****; they are inferior; they are downhill. So there will be none.

Now, if you want to be man enough to own up to the fact your team is an inferior franchise--which is irrefutably and demonstrably true--then I'll give you leeway to be critical in some regards. But to deny those facts and attempt to talk **** despite the obvious factual records does not fly in my book.
