Well, Garrett is probably going for the Denver job.
Why don't we just trade coaches?
Wade as Defensive Coordinator, Shanahan as offensive coordinator and they can share the HC position for all I care.
Romo played football at the same university as shanahan, maybe that could work in our favor.

Proven sucessful OC vs. Young predictable OC?
Shanahan over Garrett=No brainer.

Hopefully...
Maybe that would fix some of our chemistry and passion issues.

Shanahan will be a nice fit in Dallas... Rebuild that sorry excuse for an offensive line.

They won't change the line but what they will do is to get more backups that can actually play than you hv seen in big d in a long time

The key to all of this fellas is if Garrett gets a HC gig.

For some unknown reason, Jerry still looks at Coach Tecmo as the "coach in waiting" and he will do anything to keep this dream alive......even keep Cupcake.

The only thing that is going to snap Jerry out of this is if his boy wonder is no longer in the picture. Trust me, the only reason Wade is even allowed on the property at Valley Ranch is Garrett.

If Garrett takes a HC job, then Cupcake is out the door before the freaking ink is dry on Garrett's new contract. This then opens the door for Shanahan to walk in.

Now if Garrett doesnt get a HC job or turns in down for some reason, we will be forced to sacrafice 09 so Jerry has already backed himself into a corner on this one.

Thus, the only thing that is going to make Jerry do a 180 and not look like a liar after telling everybody and their uncle he was not going to fire Wade is Garrett leaving.

So if you guys want a new HC in 09, yall better start praying Garrett gets a HC offer and takes it.........that is the only way any of this happens in 09, otherwise we waste another season waiting for Shanahan in 2010.

If Garrett gets offered a HC gig somewhere would Jerry fire Wade and promote Garrett? How strong is Jerry's love of Garrett?

Translation, welcome to Dallas.

Translation for Wade. I gotta get my *** in gear and sort this mess out in 2009 or I'm just keeping the seat warm for Shanahan.

Yup but 2010 is too late because the players will have a meltdown with Wade being the primary coach and no answers. It won't be such an attractive place to be as it would right now regardless of the media circus that will always be here. Experts/coaches around the league still believe this team is the highest on talent but low on leadership character and structure.

That could change by 2010 and this may not look like such a nice place for Shanny to be by then. Especially if Romo looks to decline and players are ripping on one another after another underachieving season. The translation I get from Shanny right now is "Dallas come get me I want to coach but I'm too good to coach the lowprofile bottom feeders of this league". Shanny also knows Jerry would hear him out if he wants a certain player and Shanny doesn't shy away from bad rep players who are extremely talented like T.O as he was the only other serious suitor back in the "next question" days.

Now is the time to get the HC that will fit this teams culture and type of players. New breakthrough stadium during a rough economy, the core players are in their prime, we have the defense kicking especially if Wade would take another $.5 million to stay as DC. If not Capers, Mangini and Crennel are all out there and know Shanny's coaching nemesis Bill Belichick well. Not to mention the 3-4 in that order of talent. Furthermore, we host the SB in 2011 and it's not out of the question to be a contender that year especially if we have a HC who can work wih this team the 2 years prior and create this "continuity" Jerry uses as an excuse to keep Wade. The realexcuses is he has a man crush on Red who he knows is not ready to be a HC and the $. Garret splits and Wade takes a DC position the big coaching salaries are washed nicely. Other than Houck and Stewart the other salsaries are minimal and Shanny should be able to tweak the staff as need be to fit his offensive system. Screw Garrett's, it's not effective when we need it most and there is no balance. Getting Norv would be the only reason I would keep it and he just won another playoff game against what was the hottest team in the league. He's a HC in SD next year.

That is exactly right. Especially if Jerry believes in continuity as much as he is saying and in that regard wants to be in the SB during the 2011 season where we host it. Talk about creating a perfect transition, keep the current continutiy and develop the future continuity for 2010 and 2011 when we host the SB. Another $.5 million for Wade as DC and that is no demotion, that is excellent job on defense which is all you coached anyways. His Asst. HC makes as much as him, that's more of a slap than anything. Shanny and Wade with Red as a HC for one of the bottom feeder teams would be ideal. Garretts going to get a shot because the real HC's out there don't want DET, STL, CLE and NYJ.

Shanahan would be a good fit with the talent that is here. WCO that favors TO, RW11, Witten and Romo with his quick release, though not accurate on slants. The question is who handles the defense I am sure wade isn't going to stay around to help the guy that replaced him again.

Rather have Mangini because he'd be stuck here for a while pissing off half the 34 coaching tree in this league and is a darn good young coordinator who busts *** when necessary. But in this order talent wise Capers, Mangini and Crennel could coach the defense and keep up the pressure. Capers would get another gig with a desperate bottom feeder after 1 good season, regardless of the Texans stint and Crennel is too cupcakish and old to ream guys out who miss tackles. But all 3 are top notch 34 coordinators.
