its the NFL, its not based on past performance (only if its to measure future potential)...that's something for fans to argue...its also meaningless. Peyton Manning didn't get a ring, was 0-4 in playoffs, yet got a large contract? would you say he shouldn't have got one? since 2000. there has been 12 QBs that won superbowl. so none of the other QBs deserved one? if Allen was available to us, would you advocate not paying him 43M a year average? would you have argued, its a mistake?
NFL is about future potential. and it makes sense. bottom line. now the first 6 weeks of the season, no one complained about the contract. now, past 3 games, everyone is out of the woodworks.
the money is off field, off season, has nothing to do with football and has no impact on the season, meaningless discussion at this point
