It might work out for them IF and that's a BIG IF their new DC is Cottrell. He'd be in charge of getting the best out of their defense while Norv could devote himself to the offense. However, do agree that if they don't start strong it might be a tough year. I'm glad we got Phillips cause we need him to move our defense into the upper defensive echelon in the NFL and for an entire season, including the offseason. Our offense did much better then we expected last year once Romo took over but our OL problems continued to haunt Romo lwhen he forced to move out of the pocket so often which I think combined with his lack of ball security near end of season contributed to our drop off winning record. We also need Garrett to help harness Romo's abilities but ensure he practices better ball security and gets rid of that Favre mentality. Hopefully we will also get good performances from TO & Glenn along with Crayton and really find out if Hurd & Austin have legit starting WR abilities. Who knows, maybe even Julius Jones will thrive with Garrett & Soprano calling the shots.
As a matter of fact, Cotrell, is their defensive coordinator.

. His 1999 team broke the league scoring record
No, they didn't. They didn't even lead the league in scoring that year. That would be the eventual champion Rams.

Commander remorse, it sounds like. If Norv Turner is successful in San Diego, Commander fans will go bananas. They were already envious of San Diego because Schottenheimer won there after being fired by Snyder. If Turner succeeds, they may have to face the truth. That will devastate them.
This post just makes me feel so good to think about.

Um yes they did...the Rams merely broke it further. The Skins still broke the record that stood going into 1999. Try again.

And Angus, wishful thinking. There's no envy of Marty and SD...we knew they'd choke when it mattered in the playoffs. Funny how Mary also seems to piss off every FO he works with to the point they'd rather live without him than deal with his grade school bullcrap like putting grown men on curfew in locked dorms.

I wouldn't expect all the Cowboy fans to remain objective about Norv. It was interesting to see how many of you saw the truth and were downright terrified of the prospect when your owner was courting him in the Super Bowl.

I'd bet a ton the Chargers come back to mediocrity like they did after their 12-4 season a few years back.

Nope. you sir, are still wrong. The 1999 Commanders scored 443 points that year

Just the previous year, the Broncos scored 501. The Vikings scored 556 that year, setting the Nfl record, might I add. The Commanders team that previously held the league scorinmg mark with 541 points was the 1983 Commanders. A team Norv Turner had nothing to do with. I would highly suggest doing some research next time lest you look foolish trying to correct someone who actually did the research and who knows what they're talking about.

Have a nice day.
