SI: Truth and Rumors

A lot of guys paid attention to BP in their careers, and T.O. still tried to test his patience. However the fact that Aikman would respect Garrett as a backup speaks volumes for his football IQ.

How did he test Parcells patience ?

No opinions please.

Dressing like Lance Armstrong. Saying that he didn't hear Bill's 'championship' speech.

Mobile QBs = bad investment

actually it should read:

"mobile QB's with erratic, average arms and inability to read defenses= bad investment"

T.O. is going to walk all over Garrett, .

I really dont think he will, especially if Norv is HC

Irvin loves Norv and has Owens' ear...he is gonna convince TO that he will love Norv's system, and TO will be fine

other than dropping a few too many balls this yr, TO was not an issue on the field or on the team IMO

"I tried to make it work as best I could. It wasn't without a few little things here and there, but I never felt anything was insurmountable. I never had to draw a line in the sand. He did the best he could in his way, and I tried to use him the best I could. It wasn't perfect, but that's the way it was. It wasn't as problematic as it was portrayed."

"Nothing Insurmountable" and "not as problematic as it was portrayed"

Sorry, but that was BP's opinion of the situation, but if you don't think it means that it tested his patience then fine, but I think that means it did to a degree. Nothing terrible, no doubt and I am not saying that.

As usual, We will have to agree to disagree.

Scouts at the Senior Bowl predict Troy Smith will not go in first round of the draft.

Sound similar to what I said: "Whoever drafted this guy to be a QB in the first rould show be sent to execution chamber." - nyc

I just remember during the revolution of the mobile QB when McNabb, Vick, and Culpepper were having their best years. Zero super bowls later, I'll take the ole pocket passer.

Wow, Jack Del Rio. I had not heard that. That is actually interesting to me.

Jack Del Rio does have ties to Jerry from the Vikings trade.

Interesting.

This tells me everything I need to know.

Plus, read my sig line.

When you are the HC of 53+ players, there is probably something going on all of the time with some player, or some position, or some situation.

That quote to me was him telling it like it was, not someone dancing around the truth.

I know some always wanted Owens to become a big issue, but .. "it was not as problematic as it was portrayed."

According to Parcells you're wrong on this too.

That's it, that's all you got, two things ?

I bet the only thing that Owens did that tried Bills patience was something that Witten and Glenn both did as well, ... drop balls.

It wasn't without a few little things here and there. Saying T.O. didn't annoy BP at all this year is ridiculous. BP is taking the high road and strolling out of town peacefully without making any controversial statements about 'the player'. The guy who he never called by his first name.

BP did start calling TO by his 1st name by middle of the year

But even you have to admit that it was portrayed as VERY problematic, so.....

Overdosing on pills, calling someone on the staff a snitch, saying he didn't get involved early enough. Things head coaches love to hear.

Why did you think he went back to his 'player' alias during Bill's farewell?

That isn't what I said at all though is it? You will never see where I said TO didn't annoy BP ever. I simply took Bill parcells at his milder version of the relationship with TO to your version which has TO as a villain who is licking his chops to "walk all over Garrett" when there's not an ounce of proof, just speculation.

I see BP and TO's relationship as strictly business. BP pushing T.O's cap that one game may have been the extent of their friendship. As far as no proof of how T.O. treats new coaches just ask Steve Marriucci and Andy Reid.

I like when he said who ever released Vandy I hope they know what they are doing. Who in the heck does TO think released Vandy? The Tooth fairy?

Portrayed ??

Yes, Yes I agree that it was "portrayed" as problematic by BSPN, Cold Pizza, PTI, Rome, etc. etc.

That's their story, that's how they reel in the audience !

But now Parcells has come out and said it was never as bad as the mediots "portrayed" it to be.

I wish he would have said this from day one.
