This board is so so funny. Rules for everything that cannot be discussed but no rules about bashing the Jones family. It’s pretty much bullying but this board as AOK with it. Supposedly this is a child friendly site and yet we get to incessantly bash an old man. Good lessons for the younger family members here. So so freaking Hypocritical. Gotta love it…Thx!
Why would there be a rule against bashing anyone? And how does it hurt...the children?

The whole internet available to them but bashing Jerry is the real danger.

Jerry, Stephen, Charlotte, and Jerry Jr. The whole 4 musketeers, tired of them all. All show and no performance. The Dallas Cowboys isn't a legendary franchise to them, it's a money making cash cow to them which they continue to milk year after year. Go on Jerry fire me. Fire everyone. Guess what senile old man, not everyone works for you. But just about everyone has caught on to your jig and gas lighting. I cannot wait for the SF 49ers put a beat down on this soft, poorly coached, poorly managed team.
It has been a while since I posted, but I still have the urge to lament my passing ebbing interest in the Cowboys. I have been a fan for 50 years it’s just too much. I’m posting like an obituary.

They own the team that you love, and that's likely not going to change for a very long time.

So, you have a decision to make: Continue to root for a team owned by people you can hardly stomach (which also includes you supporting their empire with your fandom - notice all these ads that pop in the forum? )

Or you can...

Well, I guess you don't have a choice. You bleed blue and grey.

And the Jones family that you're so sick and tired of, they love your commitment to The Star.

:flagwave:

Not a huge fan of Mike Fisher, but he nailed it when he said the Cowboys are a marketing firm that plays a little football on the side.

Jerry doesn't get a pass just because Dan Snyder would have been worse. Where do people come up with stuff like this?
I didn't say anything about giving them a pass. All I said is that it COULD have been W-A-Y worse.

Snyder
Haslam
Kroenke
Tepper

Bidwill, Spanos, and Brown have been laughing stocks for decades.

Sadly, that won't matter. Even if Stephen doesn't want to manage the cap or draft once Jerry is gone, the team building philosophy won't change with a new GM. They believe in their process, and have said as much.
Fully agree.

I think that Stephen will hire a GM in title to take some heat off him, but not much is going to change as far as roster building approach.

I don’t think it’s wise to build a team by signing a ton of expensive free agents, but not zero….and that part of things has Stephens fingerprints all over it.

He would rather leave a position with gaping holes than spend on a free agent, and that’s not going to change.

The best we can hope for is that he may hire a coach that actually has up to date schemes and not worry about not getting “credit” like the old man. I don’t think Stephen will demand that it be all about him the way the old man does.

You're pretty much spot on. They go on vacation every year when FA begins. They're not looking at those top priced players at all. Building through the draft with an occasion trade or two, you need a very good coaching staff.

The Cowboys NO NOT actively make moves to put a better team on the field. They assume that happens through the draft.

Kroenke? I don’t know to much about him other than he owns my favorite EPL team. But at least he hires football people and stays out of the way.

I've just decided to not root for this team. I'm not changing to another team. Will enjoy the NFL for what it is and the joy (and money) I get from it. I'm just not rooting for this team until this owner is worm bait. The past several years have been pretty apathetic at best anyway and I've held on more out of habit than anything else. 40 years is a tough habit to kick but this recent incident has me asking myself what kind of people I want to support, and these dudes ain't it (the ownership).

My moral compass is pointing to the door.
This is where I’m at.

Who is blame for Jerry doing nothing with this team for the past 25 years? We are...the fans...we buy game tickets...we trek to Frisco like its Mecca...and we buy gazillion dollars of Cowboys gear and souvenirs. The only way you hurt Jerry is to hit in the wallet. Since the team is the most valuable in all sports, Jerry could care less about wins...and who is at fault? We are....
