He was in uniform last night. Anybody see him on the field?

For a guy that had five catches in the HOF game, you would think they want a better look at him.

Guess he's already made the team, or else he's already on our list of cuts ... :D

TE's didn't get any love last night, but that's what happens when everything is a short dumpoff from being rushed.

No. But Gronkowski seemed to get quite a few reps with the first team.

Gronkowski isn't much of a lead blocker, from what I've heard of wise guys that have analyzed our games. If he can't lead block, what good is he? I remember when we converted Oliver Hoyte, a LB, to FB. He couldn't do much but he could pulverize guys as a lead blocker.

At least the word is on Sicko that he runs good routes and has good hands. Blocking may be a question mark, if so, can we afford him?

Gronkowski has been on some special teams at least in practice, but has no recorded tackles in games. Sicko has only been in part of one game (5 catches 44 yards) so we haven't seen whether he has any ST ability. Maybe playing safe with his concussion. Does it take a month to recover from a concussion?

You must have mis-heard about Gronkowski. He isn't as physical a blocker as Anderson but he's impressed the coaches with his knack for knowing which player to block and compare that to what Daryl Johnston did for Emmitt.

yeah, I noticed that. Think it means he's in. Sicko is going on the PS.

Depends on the severity of the concussion. I've had players miss a week, and some miss 6 weeks.

being able to figure out in a split second which guy to block and make the right choice is a very rare commodity. Moose could do it; Lorenzo Neal was another with that gift. If he is good enough to block the guy and sharp enough to know which one to hit that is very rare indeed.

The guy at DCTimes.com that grades tape every week keeps watching Gronkowski - he says his problem is that he may pick the right guy, but doesn't make the block effectively. "Loses balance and lunges at defenders" he says. Very poor mechanically in his blocks. ...
