You must have mis-heard about Gronkowski. He isn't as physical a blocker as Anderson but he's impressed the coaches with his knack for knowing which player to block and compare that to what Daryl Johnston did for Emmitt.igtmfo;3520001 said:Gronkowski isn't much of a lead blocker, from what I've heard of wise guys that have analyzed our games. If he can't lead block, what good is he? I remember when we converted Oliver Hoyte, a LB, to FB. He couldn't do much but he could pulverize guys as a lead blocker.
At least the word is on Sicko that he runs good routes and has good hands. Blocking may be a question mark, if so, can we afford him?
Gronkowski has been on some special teams at least in practice, but has no recorded tackles in games. Sicko has only been in part of one game (5 catches 44 yards) so we haven't seen whether he has any ST ability. Maybe playing safe with his concussion. Does it take a month to recover from a concussion?

If he is good enough to block the guy and sharp enough to know which one to hit that is very rare indeed.
