OK so this is probably the 12th season. If I could ask this franchise to do one thing and one thing, only, it would be to sign, the best possible defensive tackle out there.
No, it’s not a position of Flash . We all know how much Jerry loves, flash.
or is it, Stephen who’s making the decisions?
Anyways, the last time I got my wish was , Zach, Martin.
Where's your suggestions?

They are in good shape to sign players that they need and they draft well.
This year is no different than any other offseason in terms of what they can do.

What good is "they draft well" if they use middling picks on DTs. And let's be clear. They aren't that good at drafting DTs. Two of their more recent picks other than Odi, are slugs - Hill and Gallimore.

There's no reason to trust these guys when it comes to DTs. But yet, here you are thinking they will deliver this offseason. The smarter approach is see it to believe it at this point.

You're right that they aren't good at drafting DTs. And even when they hit, it's a guy that moreso makes for a solid role player (Crawford and Osa) rather than a productive starter.

It’s funny and sad over the years I’ve seen guys like Henry Melton, Dontari Poe, Jonathan Hanskins, Michael Bennett all come through here…..guys past their prime….sucks. We get the guy we want years too late.
And now the big splash in WR FA will be ODB…….

This defense would really take a step forward If they re-sign Hankins and get a really good 3 tech who can play both the pass and the run at a high level (and I mean Pro Bowl high, not pipe dream preseason Cowboy fan hoping a JAG becomes something good high) Now throw in a tackling machine at LB and we are dominant.

Sorry, I was dreaming there for a minute I forgot I was a Cowboy fan, not the fan of a team that actually realizes Free Agency is an important part of building a team…

Yep, Hankins and Hargrave would be a real upgrade
Going to be interesting to see what Philly does. Both Cox and Hargrave are FAs. They likely can't bring both back. Hargrave is better and likely their top target but depending on what they do elsewhere with Hurts contract (if they work on one this offseason), Gardner-Johnson, Bradberry and some other FAs, maybe they opt to sign the cheaper Cox and let Hargrave walk.

I'd much prefer Hargrave but Cox was still pretty effective last year so he wouldn't be a bad plan B.

If they’re smart they resign Hargrave and never let him hit FA. They already released and resigned Cox last year to a cheaper deal. They will do that again

Bradberry is replaceable with one of their rd 1 picks. I’d try to resign G-J

Jerry iss a lot of things, many not good, but this isn't really a fair statement anymore, and hasn't been for quite awhile.

There was a time he chased after guys like TO, Pacman, Roy Williams (WR) etc ... but he hasn't really pursued many high profile free agents or trade targets for a long time. He mostly relies on the draft, and even then he is as likely to draft an O-Lineman as any other position. OBJ is really the exception at this point, and Jerry still hasn't signed him.
Jerry still loves flash. They just don’t allow him to do it any longer. That’s the only change.

Word up here is that one of Hargrave or Cox is gone for sure. Some say they are worried Hargrave is gonna get a massive offer somewhere which Philly won't touch.

There’s no way Galimore will be on this team next year.
I seen something about Gallimore could be a surprise release, and a cap savings of over $2 million, maybe close to $3 million. He has been a disappointment IMO.
Especially everyone thinking he was so much better than Trysten Hill. He was not.

But tell me when they have actually gone out and got a near top FA? We are in good CAP shape to do so if we choose.
BUT tell me why we should expect this year to be different?
I see no evidence of that.

The whole Von Miller thing was a joke; offering him Gregory money (which was too high for Gregory for certain) was not going to get Von Miller. IT was all a PR sham that so many bought

Philly may have a very different looking defense next season.

just resign Hankins. Sign Watkins. Draft a guy again. We NEED OLINE badly. Steele is coming back from a major injury, Peters is older than the hills, Tyrons on his way out of the league, and Martin aint getting any younger. BTW, McGovern is a free agent unless we tag him. We MUST draft a guy at either 26 or 58.

He is maybe a half step up from a JAG normally; with flashes of better which fooled all too many

Interior O line depth looks decent in this draft. So the opportunity is there to get a guard.

No none bought into anything. The sham is the fans on here making crap up saying fans bought into it. (not you). As a way to bash the FO.
Yes some things they need bashed, but this, Miller was never coming here and get the $$ he wanted. No matter what he, or some fans say.

Gregory and that $$$ had nothing to do with Miller.

Luke Haggard is McGovern 2.0. I think in rd 4 he might be a fit. He just needs technique work.
