I guess you will be happy when you tune in all week to all of the NFL talk shows and the lead off story about Dallas is how bad Roy played.couchscout;3036866 said:The best games don't go on 5 game streaks of dropped balls. If you're a big time reciever, and for whatever reason you arent a big part of the game plan. Wether it be the other team is trying to take you outta the game, the gameplan isnt being run through you, etc. You HAVE to catch the catchable balls thrown your way, you just have to.
good post....but I question how great they are. No disrespect to them....but if they are great....then it is just a matter of us being consistent. We spread the ball around...we kept our pass rushers fresh....we kept our RBs fresh....we gave Romo periodic breaks by running the ball even when we were not having success. we played physical on defense. WE CAN PLAY THIS WAy....the coaching staff just needs to trust the ROSTER they put together and rotate players in. Getting rid of the TOs and Tanks and Pacs was supposed to be about allowing this ENTIRE team to contribute. So start doing that more consistently.casmith07;3036881 said:I like W's. I think you might be a bit nervous if you just came off a hit that could have crushed your ribs as well. I don't think Roy Williams has ever been hit that hard in his football career, and if someone can find a video of a bigger hit, post it.
He'll have his games. What matters most is that this receiving corps as a whole is succeeding, and we just posted a big win on a great team.

I will say this one more time so maybe you'll understand it, because you are WAY too hung up on what the medie says. The sports media in this country figured out long, long ago, that negative stories/talk about the Cowboys leads to higher ratings and more newspaper subscriptions. They do that stuff on purpose, they are gonna point out every pimple and flaw they can find to keep those ratings up.
Doomsday - Believe me man, I'm right there with you about the "whiners" as you call them. I'm as big of a kool-aid drinker as there is on this forum. One of the reasons I rarely post is because I would do nothing but argue with the genius's that have nothing but terrible things to say about Romo, Jerry, Wade, etc. However, with RW11, he's incapable of doing the most basic thing that WRs are asked to do. It would be one thing if it was just this game that he dropped passes. But big time recievers (which he repeatedly has claimed to be) don't have 5 game streaks with drops, they just don't. The other main reason I don't post a lot is because I generally don't like to comment on things that I don't have direct experience with. It's hard for me to criticize Wade, because I've never been a head coach, I'm not there on a daily basis, I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. If you look at my post history, almost all of them deal with offensive line play because I am an offensive line coach. Well, I also play football, and I'm the number 1 receiver for our team, so I know first hand what it does to my team when I drop passes. RW11 HAS to start catching the ball every time it hits his hands, or Romo is gonna start ignoring him and that hurts the offense. I've seen it way too many times, if you have a drop or two every game, the QB starts going elsewhere because he doesn't trust you.
I don't have an agenda against RW11, as a Cowboy fan I want nothing more than to see him establish himself as one of the best in the game, but his drops worry me, and my original point in responding to this thread, is very simple. Just because we won, doesn't mean Roy gets a pass for drops in this game and all the previous ones. He needs to start catching the football.
bbailey423;3036741 said:So what RW did not have a big day....we WON. Ausitn did. THis is something the Cowboy fans, players, media, front office, coaches etc......this is something we need to get away from. We are a football team. We need to STOP with the self imposed pressure to only APPRECIATE winning a certain way. This kind of mentality is why we have not functioned as a FOOTBALL team in a long time. If we are not throwing bombs or getting sacks or getting INTs or getting long TD runs, the whole Cowboy nation comes unglued.
I have seen this team QUIT when they give up embarassing plays. Heck this defense gave up an ENTIRE drive because on 3rd and 2 we stopped them, but Bowen jumped offsides and gave the Falcons a 1st down. Show some backbone and stop them again, don't escort them to the endzone because you are dissapointed. I have seen this team apologize when they don't win like WE ALL THINK they should. This is a classic case of being a frontrunner, of being a team that is only interested in winning while LOOKING good.
Sure I want Roy to be succseful...but if you want to complain about something, complain about ALL OF THE PENALTIES
We should NOT let the media off the hook writing aritcles about Roy Williams after we beat this team by 20. The MEDIA said we would lose...the oddsmakers had us as 2 point underdogs....so since the MEDIA was WRONG...they should man up and talk about a team they underestimated. I am not interested in the media and their articles about Roy Williams....all that is a way to DEFLECT that they were WRONG about this team and this game...so any aricles written by people complaing about Roy Williams is a way for them to build credability with the fans who are upset with Roy as well. But I ain't buying it...if you wrote we would lose, if you wrote we are not in the falcons league.....then man up and talk about the GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

I still think the people acting like he is nothing but a scrub need to go back and look at his career numbers. He's put up some numbers so he is capable. He's also had some big individual games.
He isnt Michael Irvin and never will be, but that doesnt mean he wont be a quality player here. He's gonna have some big games this yr before the season is over, I really believe that. Especially with teams having to now make the decision to do something to try and take away Miles Austin.
