Silver Pants?

When do the 16 Thursday night games start anyway?

Next season.

And Im hoping a good compromise could be 2 pre-season games and 17 regular season games. With 2 bye weeks.

Like in bbgun's sig pic, these should be THE uniforms. Those blues are just heaven. They changed in 82 (or was it 81?) to the darker blue with silver numbers that were ok, but not nearly as beautiful as the royal blues. I had a replica royal blue Danny White jersey that I wore in my ES yearbook picture from 1st through 4th grade (a little snug there in 4th).

Ya the blues look nice, my favorite jerseys are the all dark blue ones, simple and classic.

I like the star on the sleeve on the blues. I wish the white's had them.

I remember hearing last year that this season will be the year they make the switch from aquacrap to silver pants w/ the home jerseys.

Anyone have any info?

Hope so, never been a fan of the aquamarine green pants.

Hey bbgun, they could be waiting to unveil the new look either tonight to start the preseason or more than likely vs. the Jets since we should be wearing our white jerseys. So yeah, basically what you said.

We'll probably be wearing our road blues vs the Jets. NY tends to wear white to beat the heat early in the season.

Really? Excellent news.

WHAT! White helmets, white and blue jerseys -- can it get any more boring that that. :bang2:

The silver is what makes our uniforms. Plus those different color shoulder designs were hated so much by Bills fans they changed their uniforms this year. I think the only other team to wear it is Tennessee and those are awful too.

How about the double star as the new throwbacks?

I will say I would like to see us wear our blues at home. I know people won't like that but I love the 80's blues with the number on the pants. Nothing gets the natives riled up more than the uniforms though. Guilty as charged.

I dunno I love those jerseys.

...It's a night game. White would only work if they were playing under the sun since it reflects it better.

Their first home game last year was a night game, and they wore white.

Alright. Fair enough.

I imagine they'll probably do a tweak to the pants next year. It's a perfect opportunity to do some changes with Nike taking over the NFL Uniforms.

That'd be cool to see since we didn't see them at all last season. But I figured since it was a night game that the Jets would possibly wear their green jerseys.

That sounds about right. I think it's cool that Nike is coming back. Surely we'll see the new pants then.

It's as if Jerry Jones knows nothing about the great 70s teams. He neglects them for the ROH and his throwbacks go back to an era when the Cowboys were horrible. It's very strange. If the current team ever wears the royal blue jerseys with the metallic silver blue pants (say on Thanksgiving), sales would go through the roof. I predict the royal blue jersey would outsell the navy blue throwbacks. And that's saying a lot.

In fairnss, a lot of those 1970's players were retired for quite awhile before Jerry bought the team and they didn't get into the ROH under the old regime.

There's a rumor that Jerry is color-blind. Ergo, when people raise issue with the green pants, he doesn't see what the problem is.

If the old regime had known that things would abruptly end the way they did in '89, I bet they would've handled the ROH a little differently. It would've still been a very exclusive club, but I believe Schramm would've put certain guys in if he had known his "reign" was about to be over. That being said, the passage of time is no excuse not to give those guys their due. It may be a case of not knowing (or not appreciating) the history of this great franchise.

That may well be true. Still, since Jerry bought the team there have been a lot more people put into the Ring of Honor from before Jerry became owner than from after. Landry, Dorsett, White, Hayes, Schramm, Harris and Wright have been added since Jerry bought the team, and only the triplets have been inducted from Jerry's teams.

I have to say that while I agree there are strong candidates remaining from the 1970's, if Pearson gets in I don't know that there are really any no-brainers left. Too-Tall, John Niland (who Schramm had more than ample time to put in), Martin ...... a few others ....... good candidates, but I don't see them as no-brainers. You have to admit that it is a little tough to decide where the dividing line is between being exclusive and dropping off the standard of exclusivity that was supposed to be set for the ROH.

The aquamarine pants are awful......as are the bright royal blue numbers, jersey stripes, socks and arm pads compared to the darker blue star and stripe on the helmet. If you sit back and look at the uniform last night, the colors look just plain tacky. Hell you might as well make the star and stripes on the helmet royal/cobalt blue if they keep that other crap.

This to me was the cowboys best look with darker blue numbers and socks that are close to the cowboy star color.
