Simeon Rice Released

He is a great player for the Cowboys. A personal friend of mine played with him on the defensive line at Illinois. He's been nothing short of greatness, c'mon now 3 probowls? How many Cowboys DL have 1?

He could still be a very effective situational pass rusher, and just the type of speed rusher that gives Flozell fits. I, for one, would not enjoy seeing him in Burgandy and Gold.

I agree.

I want the Commanders to continue with their idiotic theory that they can just cover everyone so a pathetic pass rush does not matter.

A few years ago I would have hated to see Simeon Rice on the skins because he was so good.

He isn't nearly so great now, but he still would be an improvement from what they used to have, and that is never good for us.

given his relationship with the Lions Coach... I see him going there!!!

They run a 3-4, and he's never played any linebacker.

I'm wondering.

He was considered a linebacker coming out of Illinois (along with Kevin Hardy), did he play a traditional linebacker role in college?

They should sign him (Commanders). Hed start for them in a heartbeat.

That being said, if they do, it doesn't matter much. He's no longer the Simeon Rice circa 2002. I wouldn't worry too much if they did. But it would be an improvement.

He just had 14 sacks in 2005 before last year injury

Giants might take a look at him since Strahan is holding out a considering retiring.

I wouldnt mind bringing him in as a situational pass rusher. But as a starter? No thanks... doesnt have the discipline to play the run well enough in GW's system
